man, your 16... I'm 16... You just became my idol!
awsome job on the video.
very tallented.
keep it up!

what puzzles me about the video's i have seen of downhill racers training. is the trails they are riding on are fairly easy with very few rock gardens and super steep technical parts to it. wouldn't it be better to train on the scariest and most difficult terrain out there so when the go to races you are used to that stuff and it's easy?

wow this is by far the best video you've made yet! You could easily make a dvd and sell it if you kept this up. respect.

What is going on here..........?
This was average again, Courses were basically foot paths, riding was nothing special to look at, half the vid was him talking and then pushing up. Come on guys, where are your standards. Bring back LaRock.........

I did think the intro was too long, plus with my crappy internet speed it took ages to download a guy pushing a bike!

I think today Goblin, yer off the mark. This kid's got the tools, and I hope to see him repping Canada on the big podiums some day.

I dont get this could be considered average...I like Larocks edits alot but in my opinion Faultline is a level higher with skill like the shots are amazing, especially the dolly ones!

Well i watched it again and i'm sticking with my opinion, i think technically the video is very good, the shots, the editing etc are excellent. I still think there was too much pushing up, and too much interview and most of all the riding was average at best. Nothing spectacular to look at, no super-tech sections, no super-fast sections, no super-steep sections, and no big air.
Regardless of whether he's a good rider, the video does not impress me at all. I rode with a tonne of other guys at the weekend who pin it way harder.
I really don't see how the 'kids got the tools'? Whats the standard we're talking about here?
He just goes round alot of corners, and gets the odd little bit of air.
I'll reiterate that regardless of the courses being 'Island Cup' courses (Whatever they may be) they are boring to watch and don't make the rider look very good, which i imagine is the point of the video?
May be an unpopular opinion, but thats what it is, my opinion. I don't bum LaRock either, his vids are just very good, and make the rider look amazing above all else.

urgh, could live without that bike and what's with all the ski movie music and slow mo's. Is it still 1998? I've never liked Norco vids. BORING. I hate it how they always interview the riders, even though they have NOTHING to say and edit it over some soul-less 'slow-hop' music. Make some effort norco. bring some passion. make a vid that compliments the rider, stop just splicing together 2mins of footage of a guy skidding round some corners. He deserves better.

Atomlab31,
Even though your are allowed to have your own opinion, I think you are totally wrong about this video. I would like to clear up a few things for you. In no way whatsoever, if Fault Line affiliated with Norco Bikes. We are a media company, and have sponsored one of Norco's athletes. Another thing is, out of all people here, I have seen this video the most, as I spent the 7 hours filming it, and the 5 to edit it. I can assure you, their are only 2, slow mo shots in this video. I know because I have to film them at a different setting. Norco also makes killer videos, they focus on the soul of the rider, just like the collective does. Also being a producer it is very hard to find music that fits the mood AND that you can get creative commons licencing for, you try it one day.
Thanks for watching though!

dude you shouldnt have to back up your own video. if you beleive in what you've created it should speak for you. but i gotta say the music was terrible, there is no place in this world for rap or hip hop or whatever you call it. yes that may be an opinion but it is also a fact. look it up. secondly, the riding was indeed boring, absolutly no progression throught the film just identical shot throughout and zero plot line with some rough stitching. beautiful colours though, obviously you know how to set up a camera properly, having said all this i appreciate this video as i do any video produced with effort and passion. keep it up.

Glad you liked it! I wouldn't calling it defending myself. Just correcting him... He thinks it's a lot of slow mo? Obviously he didn't watch the movie very closely. Also not sure how you visually progress over a week, but thats just me... Thanks for the comments though! -ep

Dear fault line media.
I'm sorry I confused you for norco. but I stick by my statement. The slow-mo comment was meant to just be a general statement about vids that use them, I possibly didn't word it right but I just felt that the slow-mos that were used detracted from the feel of the vid. which is all about 'Pinnin' well fast. On the Music front, there are loads of bands on myspace who would love to let you use their music, all you have to do is ask. If you put their name on it they'll easily let you use the songs.

great edit, great music, sick trails, but man i gotta be honest, i didn't see any overly amazing riding, like its good riding, you handle the rock garden amazingly, and you seem fast, but this promo wouldn't really make me interested in you right away, if i were a sponsor. keep up the riding tho bro, with practise comes more sponsors.

I have to agree with specialized116; Great video, fast riding, sweet bike...but finish school mans, you need PR skills. How about thanking Norco for the wheels? Or crediting how good that bike is your riding is, not just its smooshie, theres R&D in that bike older than you probably.
He's fast though, give yeahs that!

Thanks for the input. It is our first time doing the whole talking thing in our video's. It's pretty awkward for the rider, not sure if you've ever done it. Alos tired from hiking up the mountain. It's about 3000 ft in elevation. Thanks for watching though. Glad you liked it.
- + 2
Understandablely, anytime someone is filmed or observed they act differently or awkward, and yes I have experienced this, as a musician, many times. However, for someone wanting to "go pro" conjuring up more vocabulary than your rider should be simple task; regardless of how tired he may be. I am merely crticizing the rider not the videographer, the movie was excellent quality! You have quite the talent going there!

This is VOD because it was an amazing video. Not trying to be mean 'Dexter', but the film made you look a lot faster than you are haha. But, this is Video of the Day, not Riding of the Day. Amazing video boys!
- + 1
The shots were not manipulated to make him look faster, when I watch this video i see what dexter looks like riding his bike, his cumberland result was not so nice he had 2 slide outs and ended up farther down than he deserved.
- + 2
I didn't expect you to agree. I know he fell, as did I. Aswell was it my second race run. I saw him practicing, fast kid. But the shots were done very well and cut perfectly to give him that extra edge, you can't really deny that.
- + 0
i agree with faultline and you lol, uhm the shots all spliced together super fast to make it seems like I "pop" out of things, but i mean thats what i feel like when i'm riding... lol and I also look f*cking amazing at everything i do so yeah...

Ya, I'll be in expert this time aswell. Seeing as people were calling me a sandbagger before, made me sad.
Hows the course, I heard it was a flat and not to go? Hopefully I can make it out and meet you boys.

The course is alright, we have a video of it from a long time ago if you can find it, it's been updated ALOT since then though, the course that is, and it's a fun one. It's in Fault-Line-08. But still come, racing is the best.

Wow, left me speachless. Could give the collective (anthill) a run for their money. What kinda camera are you using cause the picture is unreal for webvideo.
- + 1
reckon the editing scenery (like that should even matter) was better than yesterdays VOD, but the riding was still flat and boring in my opinion, i dont know why everyone likes this one so much better than yesterdays promo. and half the video is him walking his bike everywhere
- + 1
This is awesome, great biking, great filming! I think we ran into you the other day up in nanaimo. Were you filming that day? Good day for it for sure, we're heading up again this weekend.
- + 1
I liked the vid, but if I were sponsored by Norco, I would complement the bike a lot more than "Norco hooked me up with my new bike, and idonno... I like it so far. It does a pretty good job."

The first song is ' Frozen in time by Ghost ft. Verb T ' visit his myspace at. Www.myspace.com/musicbyghost He has some great stuff, but you won't be able poach it off Limewire etc. I recommend buying the album.

It was filmed all over Vancouver Island, but I see your from Duncan. Most of the video was on Prevost.
