First off a proper pump Expresso machine in a mobile bike shop. Most awesome. Yes I have used Heli coils they work. You know those springs that are on wheel QR s those are hardend spring steel . With some out of the box imagination that may work as a hell coil. Maybe
Always a fan of transcending time and space!

Banger vid josh . Ya better than me. I just spent three hours putting a new shifter cable in and tuning my mech haha . I mean those bloody barrel adjusters do a lot more than I ever thought .

Hahah, yeah nice! If you play with them everyday they become second nature but every now and again their is a quirky one for whatever reason. If the hanger is straight, mech bolt in securely, limit screws set right and the b screw is dialled but you still cant dial in the indexing with barrel adjuster then the next port of call is cabling.. sometimes just running a new inner does the trick if its shifting inconsistently.

I think Rob is just a nice bloke that helps him out with repairs but not his dad!
But he sure looks like a cool dad!

@Parkbuilder72: haha.. i would be happy to call rob my dad! Yes, he is my go to when things get complicated. When I initially set out to do the video I thought I would complete 3 easy tasks, but there are always complications and some exotic tool or part at the end as a solution!

@Parkbuilder72: yes if you use a heli coil it's a one time fix. You can't remove the pedal after that or it will fail again.

@Parkbuilder72: Exactly, that was my problem initially.. I didn't capture it all on video though. The crank's pedal thread had been previously heli coiled which I was not aware of. The coil came out with the pedal. Those unior inserts are proper sleeves so I rekon they will do the trick once I get my hands on em! Replaced the crank with a spare one in the meantime.

Cheers brah. Yes have replaced the crank with a spare while I wait for the inserts to arrive from a long way away!

@buspilot: I'm sure you thought of that. Being remote and not on major trade routes is a feeling I know very well!
