I have nightmares of not being able to turn my bike. This event would be traumatic for me.

Yep, happens to me too. After a long days of riding all day, tires slipping over wet roots, i have nightmares about washing out all night... Sleep, crash wake up. Thats me after a long days of riding and crashing.

True! We spoke about 3 hours before this happend about hiting a tree in this section

But lucky there was a pad and i'm fine!
