To clarify: I am spinning up the crank arms and then letting go of the pedal and shifting the front derailleur from the big to the small and back a few times, while the wheel continues to drive the crank arm via the chain. Also it is a compact crank, so it is even more impressive.

Most hubs will do it if you let the grease build up for long enough.

Must hubs that come into our shop are like that! Welsh rain and dirt on the roads!! haha infact the other day i had a bike come in that had been on fire!! what the fuck like!! haha

no it is loudy if you dont put grease in it or lube because either one absorbs the vibration making a lower sound
