Why you Should Keep your Mavic Freehub Lubed

A record number of auto shifts thanks to a poorly-maintained freehub.

To clarify: I am spinning up the crank arms and then letting go of the pedal and shifting the front derailleur from the big to the small and back a few times, while the wheel continues to drive the crank arm via the chain. Also it is a compact crank, so it is even more impressive.

Most hubs will do it if you let the grease build up for long enough.

Actually it should be louder after you clean and lube it.

That was said in the most jokingly way possible.

no it is loudy if you dont put grease in it or lube because either one absorbs the vibration making a lower sound

I'm sure that's true, but I am comparing loudness to clean vs unclean, not clean vs not lubed.
