@jimicarl: Yup, it is indeed the only downside and it's minor, it's really a rack problem, not a fork problem. I use chunks of pool noodles and some Velcro straps, bike ends up, if anything, more secure.

Injury Update from Gee Atherton

Damn. I remember when I got to his age, every time I hit the ground hard I could start feeling the life get knocked out of me. Every year since it gets harder to stuff it back in. And I am by no means worthy to even scrub dung off his tires in riding skill or risk taking.

Tech Tuesday - HG vs. XD vs. Microspline Cassette Explainer

@thenotoriousmic: Ha, you are a hard case for a guy seemingly unaware that steel is an alloy. I've been enjoying smooth wireless electronic HG+ shifting for years before Transmission was a thing and I can't seem to wear this stuff out so I guess I'm good, but thanks for the tips. Heck I even have a nice monoblock steel cassette on my spare bike, although it's mounted to an HG driver and it didn't come from SRAM.

@thenotoriousmic: Lol, "vastly superior", right. I'm sure I've got an old X01 cassette around here in an old parts box, and I expect it indeed has some life left in it. I can assure you that durability is the only attribute it has left that I may concede to it over what I am getting from my XTR, although that judgement will have to wait until this sublimely shifting stack actually wears out.

@thenotoriousmic: So you suggest I replace my 12 speed XTR cassette with a significantly narrower range 11 speed cassette from a decade or so ago that still costs basically the same? Thanks, but I'm getting quite good life out of my gear as it is. I don't actually need a forever cassette.
