This will grind some folks' gears (pun intended): Put the anti-kickback into the cassette. Make the cassette body/spider(s) from composite and tune it to flex exactly as desired. Or, make a pneumatic system...which opens the door for electronic control... I'll just go kick myself in the bollocks for saying that.

Pinkbike Poll: Hip Pack, Vest, or Backpack?
I've carried everything from a tiny Jandd fanny pack to a Kelty Super-Tioga. Favorite was a Chouinard Klettersack, made of kevlar ballistics cloth, with a heavy neoprene backpad to keep chocks'n'pitons from poking you mid journey. It's not the pack, it's the rider. :P
