4 Tech Takeaways From the Fort William DH World Cup
@brookscurran: I was thinking it would actually create a low pressure zone behind the cover where the rotor is. How that affects brake temperature may be part of the intent.

Amer Sports Sells ENVE to Utah-Based Private Investment Firm
@HSLD: I have a 2013 trance...with about 3 or 4 original parts on it. But I bet I could beat you down the trail...and I wouldn't judge you for it...or your newer bike. I even worked in bike shops for 17 years until 2020. If he rode his bike into work, I'd say he is a cyclist. Being a cyclist really has nothing to do with your bike....all you have to do is visit a 3rd world country to figure that out....or just not be pretentious and go ride your own bike more, rather than judging those who do. I would say its a sign he is good with his money more than anything...so hopefully that works out for his companyand you.

Wolf Tooth Announces Ripsaw Aluminum Flat Pedals
Having tried both, I can say that concave makes my feet hurt on long trail rides in softer shoes - freeriders or skate...but with stiffer like a freeride pro were ok. Convex was more comfortable for me, and allowed me to run cheaper (& longer lasting rubber) shoes with greater comfort and way more than enough grip. I also think that the ability to reposition easier without having to completely unweight is a benefit. But it really comes down to where you like the spindle under your foot. If it's forward, you will like concave and convex won't give enough grip, and they will be comfortable. If the spindle is far enough behind the ball of your foot, then convex is more comfortable. Also you can land very hard and heavy and not jack your ankle by having heel drop with the convex and more centered position. People will be weird because they either haven't tried, or didn't realize that adjusting your foot placement might be needed or beneficial. Also too stiff of a shoe sucks with convex either way.

Wolf Tooth Announces Ripsaw Aluminum Flat Pedals
Obviously there is huge design influence from Canfield pedals. I am curious whether they licensed the design from them, or are just blatantly ripping it off... I love the Canfield pedals, with soft shoes and my foot more centered. Great for hard impacts and not jacking your ankle...and the perfect (plently/a lot) amount of grip for me and obviously many others who have been open minded enough to try convex. You're stuck when you want to be, but can also reposition much easier I feel. Great for foot out flat out riding, or playing on a DJ. These pedals look very very nice to me. I just wonder about the ethics of their design.

@nickfranko: pretty sure he meant the advertising strategy/incentive, not the use of belts.
