First Ride: All-New Saracen Myst
Hi @extremedhracer:
It's true I haven't tested other DH bikes released in the last couple of seasons as I say in the article, and that's why this is just a First Ride and not in any way a review. I have reviewed plenty of DH bikes in the past and raced some DH back in the day, so it's not like I have no context. I hope some people will at least find the sizing information and real-world measurements useful (If nothing else it's worth knowing that the large measures up almost a size larger than the spec sheet suggests!) and hopefully we can get this in for a proper comparative review in the future.

Review: Formula Belva Dual-Crown Enduro Fork
Back in 2019 to 2021 when RockShox had the B1 air spring I was often accused of comparing everything (unfavourably) to the Lyrik and being a RockShox fanboy. I'm sure sooner or later someone will come out with something better than the 38 that I can benchmark against.

For sure it's a nice feature to have, but I'm not sure how often people will use this, and personally, I don't think it compensates for the steering lock downsides.

AXS derailleurs powered by the main battery make sense in theory. Proponents say there's a reserve in the main battery for a few hundred shifts after the motor "dies". However, Whyte say they decided to have a separate battery for the derailleur because this reserve doesn't always work, leaving you suddenly without power or gears. And with a bike like this, you could genuinely keep riding for a long time without assistance so long as the gears work.
