Pinning steel to aluminum a la SuperSprox seems a tad more economical than gluing steel to carbon. Unfortunately, if you do that on a MTB, you wind up with something that looks eerily like an aluminum spider and steel chainring, a great system that we all for some reason decided was passé several years ago...

@Junker92: not only that, it's the pinkbike audience who still check pinkbike during the MTB racing off-season (AKA ski season), which I for one generally don't.

Outdoor Research Announces Dedicated Mountain Bike Apparel Line & Athlete Line Up
Eh, I can wrestle out of my half zip rain jacket without taking off my half shell helmet. And if I'm wearing a rain jacket, I'm probably also wearing a pack to stuff it in when the rain stops, so ditching a layer requires some reshuffling anyway.

As a 5'3" person who wears (heavily modified) men's clothes, this makes me unreasonably annoyed. How have we as a global culture worked ourselves into this statistically impossible position where like 80% of men are below average height?

I will be buried with my 2016 Banshee Spitfire V2 for this reason. I am 5'3" with a 30" inseam, AKA I am short and have a proportionally short torso. The front end on most new bikes is on another continent as far as I'm concerned. I run 30mm stems, 165mm cranks (would go shorter but I'm too cheap), and flat bars chopped to 710mm (so 31.8 XC bars only, because 35s cut that short are miserably stiff if the control area even allows it).
