Review: Privateer 161 - The Budget Priced Brute
@Davec85: Depends how tall/big your are. I ride a P4 161. I am 6'6". I don't find it massive at all. I find it band on near perfect and incredibly playful still compared to other bikes I have ridden. I have had to wait 30 years to realise that I have basically been riding sketchy as fuck youth bikes all my life! I look back at the old 26" wheel day and laughs my head off. Looks like I am standing next to an Isla Bike!

@ocnlogan: Im 198cm and weigh 95/96kg. Fits well. I run a 50mm stem. I also have a Pole Tavial HT with 530 reach. If I could make a wish I would like to have and extra 20mm in reach and top tube for the Privateer - a P5! With the 50mm stem I got the reach to just 5mm less that my Pole. So super happy with it. Yep, you are right on the fence! I would be tempted to go for the P4 and get a stubby stem, You can always slam the saddle forward. It is a super compact bike.

@adespotoskyli: I am also on a Privateer P4 - I ride mostly tight as fuck, super steep Tweed Valley trails in Scotland. No problems at all getting it to go around stuff. If anything I find it easier than the short bikes I used to ride. Go figure...

Hi Louis, this is an XL. 100% It even says XL on the frame. Would not have bought it otherwise. I think it's maybe the 650b version that they don't do in XL? It fits like a glove. Awesome ride. Love it to bits. Rippingly fast, and quite.
