Story Time: When Bikes Aren't the Answer
Late to the game here, but reiterate the sentiment that THIS is the type of content that brings me to a site. Bike porn and reviews are cool and have their place, but this is "the good stuff" (Robin Williams character in Good Will Hunting). Its not all sales and commerce for F_cks sake. We're all because of a passion for bikes, and i suspect a fairly high percentage use bikes as a refuge of some sort. The world is on fire, and somehow the sound of hollow rubber on dirt provides solace. And even then sometimes you have to put it down and recharge. Peace, Henry. And thanks for this.

Pinkbike Editors' Christmas 2023 Wish Lists
Throwing it out there for the "there's no hitch made for my car" set... You can purchase the raw receiver part of a hitch in both standard sizes fairly inexpensive, and some raw steel tube or angle material, and a competent welder can fab something up relatively easily. Years ago i had a 2nd gen mercedes slk that had no option. Found a couple of factory subframe bolts and bumper attachment bolts that were easily replaced with longer ones to allow the custom hitch to mount up, and was good to go. Had about what a hitch would cost anyway into the materials and a case of beer for my welder neighbor, and it was totally kickass having the only slk with a hitch. Was even able to hide it behind the flexible lower part of the rear bumper. Highly recommend as a satisfying project on any car that doesnt have an existing option. Obviously would not actually use it to tow.

I thought dead ringer for mid 2000s K2 mtbs... also meh, although I'm sure everything is better from kinematics and performance. Cool bike regardless.

$3900 USD2019 Evil Insurgent LB, Size Large. This is the most fun bike I've ever owned! Only selling to build another Evil. Bike has been meticulously maintained and needs nothing. Has some usual minor scuffs from riding but no dents or cracks or mechanical issues whatsoever. Frame protected with clear film and extra downtube protectors from day 1. You will not be disappointed. This bike is stout enough to do bike park days and light and efficient enough for all day epics - but really it's a party bike. Pop, jump, jib, and slap turns at every opportunity. That super fun Evil personality shines in this one, and it just makes you want to play!

$200 USD27.5 Downhill wheelset. Hub spacing is downhill specific, Front 20x110, Rear 12x150. Inner rim width is 29, and tubeless tape is installed. Shimano cassette format. 6 bolt disc brake mount. 32 spoke configuration for both front and rear wheel. In great cosmetic and functional shape. Came on a used bike I bought, and I already have wheels for it. These appear to have minimal wear/use.
