@warmerdamj: you know some people actually like short boards versus long boards, it is a different type of surfing and definitely as @totaltoads mentioned takes more rider input, which btw as much as we are told different by most commenters and this website itself, is not a bad thing.

I think a lot of people in the US have trucks so they can haul heavy things. Since they wanted that $50,000 camper to go camping a couple weeks a year they had to get the $50,000 truck to be able to haul it. Then wind up driving that said truck around on the daily as if it is a car. Also sometimes a lot of the trucks we see here are to haul heavy things in dump trailers, as in the construction or landscaping trades. That said, both of those uses have nothing to do with how lifted, loud and large the tires are, which is mostly just for show.
