@scott-townes: I’m pretty sure most people won’t want to see dh racers wearing skin suits because it looks dumb. If you want people to be interested in a sport, small things like that can make a difference in marketability.

I agree with the editing. It’s a very well done video, but I want to actually watch a guy ride his bike. I can tell he rips.
This style of editing seems akin to click-bait where if you were to only get my eyes for 1 second, you want me to stay (like in social media where you’re doom scrolling). To me, this style is more for the opening segment to a full-length movie, like hype-foreshadowing. But as a stand-alone video, I already clicked on it, and you have my undivided attention, so you might as well slow it down a bit.

When I was working in shops, I always hated having to go out in the parking lot on a 90 degree day to bed the pads in on a bike. Nothing like getting super sweaty to then go back inside to no ac. Or, if it’s dumping rain, I’m just not bedding in pads. That’s probably why you dont often see this done by shops.

Going from that to the “modern” bike video is probably what it feels like to smoke crack. And it doesn’t make me want to try crack.

What's New for the Kids at Sea Otter 2024
@twozerosix: me too! I’ve seen one with an elastomer on the rear. I air the tires way down, and that helps a lot. I’m sure the hard part is just getting any travel out of it since it’s already so low to the ground, and doing so with such a small about of weight on top of the bike.
