Yeah there were a few skilled riders attempting really hard stuff this week- no shame in failing, I wouldn't come close to trying some of these. What I don't get, though- there were also an awful lot of people with no real chance of success- riding features way over their skill level. Did they think they would just figure it out in the air? Seems like a hard way to learn.

If pads aren't bedded in when first installed, will they bed themselves in through regular use, but braking performance is reduced until that happens? Or will they not bed in naturally, and braking performance will be reduced as long as those pads are on the bike? Asking for a friend.......

I think 80 is for XCO (short track), 250 is for XCC (the longer race), and 330 is total weekend points. XCO is worth less points as it is a shorter race but finishing higher gives you a better starting position on XCC Sunday.

@nozes: I agree, a mistake in decision making, not a mistake in technical bike handling skills. XC racing requires both for the best results. Make bold moves and sometimes you get burned; play it safe and miss opportunities......

Lifetime Series and World Cup/ World Tour are different disciplines with different athletes. Not much crossover between the two, although a few Lifetime athletes have started in WC/WT and switched over. Lots of Lifetime athletes have not been a part of WC/WT beyond some early career dabbling.
