May 15, 2019Transition Patrol Alloy MEDIUM
$2000 USDSelling my 2016 Transition Patrol. Bike is in good working order and still rips. I just bled the brakes and serviced the rear shock
Specs are as follows:
Frame: 2016 Alloy Patrol (155m travel)
Rear shock: Monarch Plus RC3 Debonair
Fork: 2016 Pike RC 160mm rebuilt July ‘18
Headset: Cane Creek 40 series
Stem: RaceFace 50mm
Bars: Chromag Fubars 780mm
Grips: Easton 33mm
Dropper: RS Stealth reverb 125mm**
Saddle: Chromag Trailmaster
Brakes: Shimano SLX
Rotors: 180mm Ice Tech
Bottom Bracket: RaceFace threaded bsa
Crankset: RaceFace Turbine
Wheelset: Stand Flow Ex
Tires: Minions
Cassette: Shimano SLX
Rear derailuer: Shimano SLX
Chainguide: OneUp
Pedals: N/A
**RockShox stealth dropper squats about 10mm when you put your full weight on it. I have a 195lb riding weight and it squats about 10mm for be, so I just run the dropper a little bit higher to account for this.
I just did a full reverb fluid bleed on it and checked the air pressure, so my guess is its a seal problem...it never really bothered me but just FYI.
Things you should know:
There is a scratch on the top 10mm of the left upper of the fork that I filled and buffed out. There are no burs - this is merely a cosmetic issue.
There are some paint scratches on the downtube and other parts of the frame but no dents or anything like that.
Let me know if you have any questions.
*If you live in Western Washington or near Portland I am willing to meet you.*
Thanks!
Ben

Jeff Kendall-Weed Finding Flow On Washington's Gnarliest Legal Trail
@JeffWeed: awesome riding! And you're right-
The RR trail system is world class and Evergreen is largely to thank for on the ground implementation.
Interesting tidbit that many people don’t know - the Washington DNR recreation group based out of North Bend has been working and planning for years to develop a mountain bike- specific trail system for the Snoqualmie corridor. They saw the need for MTB specific trails and began competing for grants from RCO (recreation & conservation office) and other entities. It’s actually DNR who initiates and facilitates the majority of these new trails in the Snoqualmie corridor....by obtaining trail project grants and hiring Evergreen MTB alliance as a contractor to help build all of these new trails at Tiger and Raging.
Moreover, DNR also has its own team of top notch trail builders who develop trails at Tiger and Raging. Master Link, Quick Link, Inside Passage, Lower Flow State, and just about every single bridge that you ride across at Tiger and Raging were built by DNR staff - and more!
Jeff, if you want I can put you in touch with DNR's lead trail builder in that area if you don't have it already. Dale probably has contact info as well.
Cheers!

Mountain Biking Is Not a Crime - Opinion
"Under the ban, the land managers are not only gaining a headache in law enforcement, they are also losing a tremendous potential work force"
- So true Vernon, I've been following and reading your articles on the wilderness bicycle ban in the U.S. and the HPTW Act that the Sustainable Trails Coalition put together and is currently working to push through congress. There's so much more to lifting the ban on bicycles on public lands than making mountain bikers happy - it's about partnering with public land managers to ensure the longevity of the trails which they are tasked with maintaining...an overwhelming task which in most cases they cannot complete without the partnership of volunteer groups.
Without a doubt, I'd venture to say mountain bikers boast the largest and most passionate group of trail stewards when compared with hikers and equestrians. I've worked for the U.S. Forest Service on a trail crew in wilderness areas and can say from firsthand experience that the current regulations which only permit the use of primitive hand tools is a broken system. The government simply does not have the manpower to keep trails open and properly maintained without the use of modern equipment and the aid of volunteers. Excluding mountain bikers from singletrack that is perfectly suited for bike traffic is only hurting these trails and the future of their existence. If the government cannot maintain a trail, they close it and no one is allowed to use it - regardless of whether you are on a bike, horse, or on foot.
