I bought one a few months back. I moved to a different country that doesn't have decent trails to ride and left my other bike at home. I needed to scratch the riding itch however, so the Stance fit the bill without wasting money on a higher spec bike living a place where that would be wasted. The old Stance I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole because of the crap geo and the dropouts, this one however, hasn't been bad at all. Yeah the spec isn't great, but I got a 2024 model new out the box for $1400 on discount, and for that kind of money, I've been more than happy what I bought. I can go out and have fun, and that's all that matters.

@hohmskullkrishten: Clearly you have no appreciation for the training and experience it takes to a mechanic at the highest level of any competition, of which WC DH is of it's sport. They have to be the best of the best, and that includes tuning the bike or component down to the very smallest detail that can make or break a run, which can count just as much as a small mistake on the race run by the rider itself. There is no margin for error, and I as aircraft mechanic appreciates that, given how dangerous the sport of DH is. So no, I and other commenters are not making dumb assumptions, but rather we appreciate that a team consists of more than one person to make the magic happen.

@hohmskullkrishten: As an aircraft mechanic, I'll follow this logic next time I fit an engine, maybe a wing if I'm feeling cute. I don't have to do the job perfectly. If the pilot is decent, he can handle it.

Luckily Kerr is fine, but can you imagine the lawsuits coming Pivot's way if these bikes made it out into the wild and someone got kebab'd by a toptube?

Everyone who rides the trails down in Africa will have some sort of animal story. I once had a normally shy caracal just chilling in broad daylight on the singletrack. Also on one ride, I heard rustling in the tress above me only to spot a troop of baboons, a creature you definitely don't want to anger! These amongst the myriad of snakes and small antelope I've seen along the way.
