@minimusprime: I’ve had no problems even in UK. 20 months to bearing change. Shock fine. I guess if you are very aggressive and a heavy weight, the frame is flex, it will chew up parts.
There are bike out there for you, just choose the right one !!

Is it not the case that as bikes have got longer, it has made it more difficult to ride with flats, heels down and be stretched out to hold the bars? So on that basis clips will hold the feet on the pedals and allow that stretched out position more easily.

So, as most brands use you ( read customer) to do the R and D ….!! For which you pay a lot, and then get crap warranty and customer service!!
What’s not to like?
At least as a customer, you can claim you had a part to play in the R and D as yet another frame / chainstay / BB Interface delaminates !!!
