Elite Finals Results from the Fort William DH World Cup 2024
@devinkalt: I think it's really a testament to Bruni as a rider. Obviously we don't have the kinematics for the new frame design from Specialized, but *the* major issue with the current Enduro platform (I have one!) is the crazy chain growth/pedal kickback in the last 30% of travel. The new Demo build appears to have a similarly rearward axle path, which will give a similar characteristic. To be that smooth with a bike that has that particular characteristic takes some serious lower body strength!

More Tech Randoms - Fort William World Cup 2024
Yeti's bike looks more polished and production ready then some companies' showroom models. Super interesting to see that they've gone to a multi-link, variable position, high-pivot, horst link for DH applications...

Formula Announces New 'Nebbia' Air Shock
I see a lot of love for this shock and brand, and perhaps it is deserved. That said, the price feels steep for a relatively simple and basic shock, no? You're at $850 USD, which is quite a bit more than the premium offerings from Rockshox and Fox which include many features that this shock does not. Even if you're a rider who doesn't want features like differentiated low & high speed compression and rebound, hydraulic bottom out, etc., you can certainly get the less expensive versions of the Vivid, X2, Float, Super Deluxe and save even more $$... What am I missing here? This seems to be billed as a more basic suspension component, with a very high price.

How Tight? Examining the UCI's Clothing Rules for DH Racing
Doesn't Tanhee's outfit explicitly break the rule stating, "or one piece suits comprising the jersey and the pants/shorts are not permitted for use in downhill events." Perhaps her shirt and pants are perfectly tucked with patterns aligned, and so I cannot see it. But it appears to be a single piece outfit, no?

Downhill Bikes of Sea Otter - Part 1
@betobi: Agreed. We'll see! Frankly, if Specialized could keep essentially the same kinematics as the current Enduro, but reduce the chain growth/pedal kickback and move the weight of the bike even lower with that new linkage.... it's hard to imagine a better bike.

Downhill Bikes of Sea Otter - Part 1
@stephenzkie: Yes, but I saw a video of the suspension cycling on instagram, and the linkage moves up and back (almost like it's extending rearward) as the suspension moves. I bet even at sag it would be much more out of the way than what it looks like when stationary.

Downhill Bikes of Sea Otter - Part 1
@skimtb1: Totally fair. We'll see what happens when the new enduro and demo come out!

Downhill Bikes of Sea Otter - Part 1
It appears that the linkage mostly operates within the radius of the chain ring. Presumably it will be about as protected as your transmission by a bash guard.

Downhill Bikes of Sea Otter - Part 1
It's a ground-up prototype of a new suspension layout, made from either forged or printed metal and carbon bars. And it's strong enough to be piloted by actual WC racers. I'm skeptical that the new Enduros and Demos will actually look like that bike, but I think the industrial look is pretty rad.
