Introduction

2 days of early-season racing in the fresh biking terrain of Crozet Monts-Jura.100% lift-accessed all weekend, with a mass-start on the snow on Sunday!

Perfectly located on the east face of the Jura mountains, overlooking Geneva and the northern Alps, the Jura Sick Race offers a delicious appetizer for the 2020 biking season.

Crozet Monts-Jura is home to a host of trails with a wild number of steep and technical lines. There are a lot of local riders, racers and very dynamic groups to develop the bike community.

The Riders and the Spot

Max Chapuis and Olivier Cuvet will be in attendance and we will not forget to mention the Enduro du Ghetto crew, as well as the Enduro Jura crew.

The organizer, François Bailly-Maitre, alias FBM, riding for Santa Cruz is convinced about Crozet Monts-Jura's potential, so he decided to move on by organizing this event.

FBM raced all the EWS and he loves to ride steep and technical trails.

bigquotesCrozet Lelex is an amazing place for mountain biking. The potential is huge. Especially by considering that you can ride almost all year round. I love to ride here and I really want to push to developp mountain biking in this area. The mountain bike community is already important, we were just missing a proper MTB event to federate everyone's energy.FBM

OLIVIER CUVET
Slopestyler
For a slopestyler, Oliv' very often rides the trails at Crozet and he really enjoy it.

bigquotesWith few trails already existing and a lot more to come, Crozet is about to become a must go in France. The scene there is already pretty active, with good high level enduro trails. The resort is now pushing for proper bike park trails which gonna bring much more people here for sure

The trails are overwhelmingly pure, natural singletrack, with some custom-built features sprinkled in to enhance your riding pleasure!

With breathtaking scenery, views across Geneva all the way to the Alps, majestic Mont Blanc towering above the peaks, all while riding your bike on epic trails - what more could you want? Come and race!

Event Concept

At this time of the year, snow has gone at the bottom of the hill and weather conditions are most likely good which will allow to ride on snow on the top of the mountain. It will be closure week-end for the ski resort Monts-Jura and a very good transition into summer and riding bike season.

The snow will be compact and very nice to ride. The trails would most likely be dry and in a good shape, freshly built and cleaned up after winter season.

WHEN?
This coming 28th + 29th March 2020.

WHERE?
Crozet, Monts-Jura
20 mins drive from Geneva airport

SCHEDULE

Saturday 28th

Morning: Practice run on the snow section, 9-11am.

Afternoon: Race 2 enduro stages, 600m drop each, which will take approximately 6-10 min per descent. This will also sort the ranking for the start line on Sunday.
Lunch based on local and organic food. Beers and snacks at Enduro du Ghetto Bar.

Saturday's times will be added to your total weekend race time, in order to designate the overall winners of the weekend.

Sunday 29th

Morning: MASS-START ON THE SNOW! Snow conditions will most likely be amazing and hopefully the weather will be clear. There will be no time to contemplate the landscape though, a race of 1000m vertical descent awaits, quickly dropping past the snow-line into forest, rocks, roots and loam.

Afternoon: after a mouth-watering lunch based on local and organic food, you will have the chance to explore and discover the rest of the trails network, using your liftpass included in the race pack. Local riders will be happy to show you around, sharing their secret lines and favourite trails in Crozet Monts-Jura.
