Pinkbike Poll: Riser Bar or Extra Spacers Under the Stem?
Option for both? I just feel that stack on bikes is just simply too little, so I end up usually with 25mm of spacers and 50mm rise bars, I'm not even that tall, I'm 5ft10. I feel like the stack being low is a hangover from the trend ~10 years ago of you must have flat bars for front wheel grip, possibly needed for the short back end trend.. I for one don't want to be "pulled" onto the front wheel in order for it to grip, giving what feels to me a locked in position give me a strong, central position so I can choose to move forward or even push on the bars when needed. I think this all feeds into the need for longer back ends and higher stack, not more reach (which has peaked and coming shorter again).

First Ride: 2024 Mondraker Dune eMTB - Punchy, Maneuverable, & Light Enough
The seatpost insertion is really bad. Just been through a whole "my bike is too short" drama due to feeling cramped and too forward, I was using a 180mm dropper at 5ft10, took the dropper out, put in a bmx seat slammed, bike felt the right size again, so much better placed on on the bike, ie lower with space to move. Moved onto a bike I can run a 240mm dropper. Remember that question, rigid bike with dropper or suspension with full height seat, I'll 100% "compromise" on suspension layout for more seatpost insertion.

Opinion: The Big Short - Smaller Wheels Don't Require Shorter Chainstays
@mashrv1: That aeris am is a bike I'm quite interested in, but yes, 429cs with the mullet kills it for me me.

I too don't want a super short chainstay with the smaller rear wheel.

OneUp Announces New V3 Dropper Post
Similar experience for me too, needs regular servicing. I treat them as a disposable part now. The inside surface of the outer tube seems to wear so easy. I did take this up with oneup previously, I'm uk, they sent me a whole new post and some service kits foc from Canada, so are really willing to back up their product. I'll still but them, they're cheap and work fine, just not very robust in terms of surface wear, which is fine.

Opinion: Your Next Bike Will Be Steeper
Give me slack HA and high stack. I don't know if it's my riding background or body proportions, but always feel stack is too low, so I end up with loads of spacers and bar height, which brings my pars back towards the bb shortening everything. Go up a size for good stack, my bars are too far away, it's like double longer because I don't lose length with spacers and bar height. Just to put it out there, stack on geometrons is too low.

Opinion: Why Climbing Efficiency Matters More Than You Think
I appreciate fun in efficiency. I live in the south east of England, a good descent is 1 minute maximum, otherwise undulating, enduro bike and dh casing worthy descents are probably 10 seconds long and few and far between, screw a hard 5-10 minutes for potentially 10 seconds of fun when I could be on a more efficient bike, sack off that once in a blue moon 10 seconds of gnar for an extra few laps of that 1 minute lesser gnar.
