nicely said ! switching between them i notice the same. true fun with a full suspension comes when you can alternate it with a nice ride on your ht. at least from my point of view, seeing bike riding as an overall activity.
been riding downhill with my hardtail for 3 years with a 160mm marzocchi 55 and its great!! For this year i got a commencal supreme and sold my HT but whenever i can i will buy another HT as a second bike. Love hardtails!!! Not as fast as double sus bikes but they are sooooo fun!!! And you can do almost anything with only one bike
one of the moments i was really happy for having big ass front suspension on a hard tail was when, after landing the rear, the front would follow, slamming my whole body forward. well, with 180 mm you feel that a bit less. it's not comfort to speed ratio, it the speed to safety - extra front travel gives you big control out of a landing, especially on the trail. also the angles are different, and if you build it right, there will be little to no danger of digging with your BB shell in the dirt after landing a hard one.
hard tails are by definition faster than full suspension when pedaling, and the extra length in front travel is a sweet pro for stability.
Used so far Dabomb Molotov with Mz 66 (baaad decision), Cube Edge Zone with Mz 66 (somewhat better) and the Phantom i have now with RS Domain (downright kinky feel), so talking from that experience.
@Banan725135650: jeździłem ze Slikami kilka sezonów i w kilku miejscach zaczęły się odklejać, buty im nie straszne. Sprzedałem korby i....naklejki dalej z nimi jeżdżą - polecam w 100%.
