Why neg prop somenone for asking a reasonable question? I dont know how he died either "joecrosby" just that he suffered from depression and was obviously an amazing rider, RIP
half the time you'd never be able to tell that some one suffers from that illness by looking at them, i have a couple of friends who battle with it and there usually all smiles on the outside.
depression is a bitch, i've been there for 2 years. literally lost 2 years of life. too bad he didn't have anyone manage to pull him out... hope he's in a better place with a shitload of hucks now.
I wonder if concussions have anything to do with depression? I noticed that some suicides related to depression in the sports world have had a history of concussions and I sure this guy has had many concussions. Anyways R.I.P man. Go big or go home.
Squampton09: It is widely regarded that depression and suicidal tendencies are hereditary things determined by DNA make-up - namely a scarcity of the p11 gene.
That is a HUGE hitter! It's sad to see someone at the top of their game lost to something like depression.
Unfortunately depression is often caused by a chemical unbalance in the brain and is hard to deal with. Watching someone with any kind of talent go downhill until they take there own life is a bitch - been there. RIP.
Great post man... once I figured out to remove br from the command line, I was able to see something that affected me, though I didn't know the person. Keep Shreddin above!!
I had an old riding partner take his own life a couple years ago too. We hadn't kept in touch for a few years, always wishing we had. Talk to your friends, be open. Be there for them. RIP man and thanks for leaving us with this image.
I was looking through the comments and realized what a great bunch of people bikers are, people that have no idea who he is, are wishing him the best, great to know i surrounded by such a great group of people, MTB forever!
I had no idea Paul passed, Brian Hammond and I filmed him for our MTB film In Session, he was an amazing rider and trail builder, im super sad to hear about this.
