Just to clarrify all this new tech. Keronite is a coatign applied to the lowers with a couple of advantages. The coating is far more durable than paint and also happens to be a little bit lighter. I for one welcome this change, as the paint on my boxxer seems to flake off if I look at it the wring way. This coating will be available on the world cup boxxer.

DLC (diamond like coating) is a stanchion treatment designed to reduce friction. Word on the street is that dlc has not been included in the 2012 line up as there are concerns over the long term durability.

what happened to the keronite boxxer? why are the stanchions black again?

I think the keronite was the coating they put in the paint for the lowers not the stanchions, but I might be wrong

It's the special BlackBox edition for the pros

luke your right, i think that the stanchions have a coating called DLC if i am correct?

You're correct. However, the keronite was a process used only for the lowers and the "only" advantage is the weight, but the Blackbox project is about developing new technologies, first of all on the internals. So I think they're working for a better internal work, still knowing that the future production may use the keronite technology.

That I am aware of, they made the keronite version for the pros to test, granted the only advantage is weight, however it got the thumbs up and now they use the new keronite finish on the lowers of the DLC blackbox boxxers, so these will have both technologies.
