I like how there used to be 100 more comments on this, but now it was deleted because even though the majority of pinkbke users are mature enough to read the material they still think its "inapropriate
Charley if you look you will see in the photo he linked, there is a burst of rocks behind him so it was probably right after he recovered. This photo on pb is when he got gnarly.
@Downlink, think you have to understand what makes a good photo... if you read Ians comments when he pics POD's, he knows exactly what he wants, and how to make it better.
Wide open and loose, makes for exciting photos like this for sure. His eyes are so focused on the line. Riiiiiiiiiight on the edge of control and mayhem.. I LIKE!
Amazingly he did ride it out but, for a few buttock clenching moments as he headed straight towards me and my camera, I had to decide whether to keep the finger pressed on the shutter release or just drop the camera and run. Realizing I had no chance of escaping in time, I carried on shooting while idly musing on whether PB had a category for posthumous POD! Fortunately he brought it all under control, I got the sequence of shots, and then waddled off to change my trousers (that would be pants of course on the other side of the pond).
i was hoping he would get the win, but when he f*cked up in the rock garden i knew that was his chances down the drain. was an amazinly loose run and still got a good time! magic
