Selected by Tyler Maine - Really this is just a sick shot and it was Lauren that set up the shot. She told Cody to high five her on this jump, so he made that happen and Ian captured the moment = team work = POD!
Actually demonboi you have no idea what you're talking about. This never has been and never will be in Decline... Almost all of my stuff is Pinkbike exclusive.
Thanks, you made me move all the icons on my screen cause they covered up my NEW WALLPAPER lol! Seriously though, Ian, all your shots are crystal clear and always have PERFECT timing, I mean his fingers are just starting to bend back!
@ Jessebmx you really really Like blonde white girls don't you every pic of a blonde on pinkbike has your name saying how much you love them somewhere lolol
I feel really bad for girls who race and are known of because they get so much unecessary attention and people creep so hard. I see Lauren and Cierra Smith get the worst of it.
DanB25 that's got to be one of the most retarded comments I've read on Pinkbike on a while. Really you think that it's a girls fault that people make stupid comments because she's good looking? That's seriously the same excuse that a lot of rapists and other freaks use for molesting women, and it's not cool. A little bit of self control goes a long ways in this world, people need to take responsibility for their own actions...
Ian some people just need to learn to grow up, the things people say just make you wanna strangle them sometimes, @joshuathemtbr its okay we forgive you
I don't mind the "she's hot" comments so much, and I'm sure Lauren doesn't either, but most of the girls/women that I post photos of actually are on Pinkbike as well, and degrading comments are not only unappreciated but they don't make guys look good either. "Wow it's so nice to see a good looking woman that rides a bike really well" is a great comment. I know there are people here with extreme opinions that think that the fact that a person is male or female or good looking or not is completely irrelevant and shouldn't be mentioned, we should only talk about them as far as their riding, but I don't agree with going that far. Lets just keep it polite...
joshua I don't think you went too far, but thanks for apologizing!
well Ian Hylands (or should I say Mr Serious) I am never going to favourite one of your photos again (not that I did anyway theyre rubbish) I hope youre happy
PS please note I got more props than you, that's pretty conclusive
IH, I second you.. I hope all downhiller men & women are handsome & pretty ,, it makes me want to go ride more! and, it may also encourage photographer out there.. so, whats wrong with good looking? . . I even hope jessica alba on a bike.. TQ
danb25, just shut up, noone cares especially Ian, he doesnt care if your not gonna "favorite one of his photos ever again" wow people get so f*ckin serious over a picture on pinkbike, its so pathetic
Everybody's going to negative prop me , but who care .... Don't like this. Rider is too stiff and cramped looking and it's generally just too posed. It's just not natural looking.
Ummm...he's high-fiving a 'spectator'!! It's obviously posed and probably not meant to look natural...except maybe to those who regularly high-five people in the middle of your run...
But a rider of that caliber should look a little more natural with just one hand off the bike...if it was a race run it'd be cool, but there's wayyyy better highfive pictures on PB
If only you knew where this jump came out of. At The US Open at Diablo its coming right out of a wet rock garden, over some shady rocks and its not a smooth ramp hit. Not to mention the course makes a hard right coming out of there with no berms, just loose gravel and rocks. Look up Gee's video of him doing a course run, its here and look at 1:35 seconds. Watch the exit there...I still give him lots of props since a picture always can make it look easy
haha great photo, way to bring something to pinkbike we have not seen in awhile, congrats stoked to see what you guys come out with in the future, i love reading the comments haha makes pinkbike better than any magazine, if pinkbike was not full of idiots it wold not be pinkbike in my eyes !
see i stirred the pot with my comment, thanks for having my back ian! rabbitdude you are one of those squares im referring to, are you in a fraternity? wouldnt be surprised. oh, and lauren is the number 1 junior female right now if im not mistaken, so yeah she would qualify as "rad" smh
I was shooting this little bump that the guys (and girls) were kind of scrubbing over, and Lauren was hanging out with me, we were just chatting about stuff and she thought of this and set it up with Cody. It wasn't really the proper line, and he pretty much had to jump to flat to get it, but we did it twice.
You two were just chatting it up and then she mentioned a pose that she would like to try with your big ol zoom lens. lol
Your so lucky Ian to be able to hang out with these kind of people and make a living at the same time, very jealous!
who the f*ck are these clowns petersantacruz and ridemacneil giving everyone negative props? I swear to god open up every prop icon and you will se there name in every comment.
No it is a boxxer with the stantion rotated and the decals removed. X fusion does not yet have a DH fork. they have a 180mm but are creating a new platform for DH but it is in its early stages.
When you make stupid comments about something you very obviously know nothing about it doesn't make you look very smart, in fact it kind of makes you look like an idiot. Think before you post next time.
Not photo shopped look at her fingers sliping threw his hand. As for the wheel. i see what your talking about but that looks like dry pack in the grip of his spinning tire. again not photo shopped. Sweet pict.
