Selected by Sterling Lorence - Let's keep the fog thing goin today too! Epic mood again, and nice creative use of the flash to save the silhouette and help boost the contrast of the subjects. One one my favorite POD's that i have seen in the files here at Pinkbike.
I'm neither a fan of Harry Potter or this shot. Hasn't he basically used a person with a brolly rather than a tripod to hold his flash? Wow, groundbreaking.
What he doesn't know is there is a serial killer in full xc riding gear around the next corner...
Beware the Lycra
OPENS 5-9-11
Rated R for intense violence, gore, sexual themes, and use of lycra
@gavlaa, The flash is clearly behind the rider and quite a distance from the guy with the umbrella. I think it's a nice shot, something a bit different. And it has that feel of racing on a really damp foggy day.
What is with all of these PODs by Nikon shooters recently which apparently sync above 1/250 with remote flash? Can someone explain this? As far as I know, the only way to accomplish this would be to use long PC cables and shoot in high speed sync mode. Anyone? Oh and sick pic as well
Most likely they're are using the new Pocket Wizard Flex TT5 & mini TT1 radio slaves which are able to override the traditional max sync speed of the camera. These new triggers can let you fire off camera flashes up with a sync of up to 1/8000 (which is also the max shutter speed of every SLR on the market)
