Never consider the amplitude of H2o to be correct, as it varies from place to place resulting in many forms of radioactive beavers and otters and such.
@bikebuster I'm so glad you know so much about what happened, did you happen to see something that the rest of us here didn't? Romo came up about a foot short, cased hard, slammed his chest into the bars winding himself, blew his knee and broke his bike, all in the fraction of a second before the landing frame of this sequence. Then he bounced strait into the rest of the landing where his front wheel hit soft dirt sending him topside over the bars into the ground. Which he eventually walked away from with help from two medics. I didn't see you anywhere there?
Might have got a little greedy in qualies for sure! Bit I did not want to do one of the pre built features. Had to bring something to the coarse and make it original and my own.
Gee did hit the line but with a different approach and more mellow air.
Note this as well. Stund crew rider James doerfling went for my line in finals, got to the landing but ripped forks off upon landing. Props James for being the only other rider to go for it.
when I saw the first couple photos of that line I praised the commitment and gnarliness of it, but the angle of the lip to the tranny just looked to difficult/impossible to ride out of. Full credit to Romo for giving it a go though, he was damn close to pulling it off!
From the photo/video I think this is a poor line choice. It's more important to ride clean than to puch the limits in qualifying. This line looks really tough, Romo deserves props for hitting it, but I wonder if he'd have been better served riding a more sensible line (snensible in rampage terms) and qualifying?
sick picture, just wondering do you have a program that automatically edits all the pictures together in a sequence? if not how do you do it manually? and what program u use? Thanks alot and this picture is amazing!
photoshop, this one took about an hour to do well. Easy to do for the web but they need to look good full size as a magazine spread so they take a little longer...
Gee made it, destroyed his wheel, Tyler McCaul made it, wrecked his hand after landing ok. Both going off a line slightly to viewers left of Romo's take off point....
Sorry man...didn't see this comment yesterday...but WOW...i was pump for Gee throwing it...how different (in lenght) is Romo's take off from what Gee and TMC did?...on the webcast and the pictures, maybe there are 1-3feet difference...
Any how...stoke on the rampage this year...guess you guys had a blast...2012 here I go!!...hope to meet you there Ian!!! I'll bring the imperiales....
I think you're missing that part that Gee rode probably 10 mph faster down the entire course than anyone else, and still pulled a huge move and rode out of it. Fluidity and speed count for a lot in this event...
Gee is a line stealer and did NOT deserve anything better then a 3rd i think he should been stuck in 4th..panzy not even taking a second run. damn britian. give ur number two plate too the claw who DESERVES it for insanity and strength for holdin on
see my response to a comment above. He case pretty good and was totally done, bike broken, Romo broken for the last 3 frames of this sequence. Even if he hadn't washed his tire he still wouldn't have been able to ride his bike or even stand up after the case...
