oh, I see. i cant read. I misread it and was thinking you had filled in the tubing were the brake boss' were welded on. If the tubing was a bit thinner than it would had sunk in a bit around the welds, so I was thinking you had filled it in with weld or bondo. Anyhow it turned out real good. This will be my 3rd stp frame build. it's a 05 too and will be running disc brakes on the rear.
fill? or file? What i did to remove the v-brake mounts was a dremel tool (or small angle grinder) to slice off most of the v-brake mount, and then i filed it smooth.
used Circa 1850 paint stripper and applied it probably 10 times, lots of it especially in the tight spots where you can't reach with sand paper. The rest i got off using sanding foam block, sanding paper, and wire brush. It took half a week of an hr or two a day...tough paint
so you took the paint on by paint striper from the whole frame and then you used the sand paper to make ut look like this? couse when I rawed my frame it didnt look nice like yours....
most of the paint was gone from paint remover, so I only had to use sand paper for a little bit of the frame. The shiny areas are from paint remover, and the scratched up areas are where I used sandpaper. I didn't use sand paper to polish the frame, only to get rid of paint. I used 80 and 120 grit sanding foam block.
