Lol, thanks Dave. Yeah, I've got the fork dialed in a bit better now. I didnt have enough put into the volume adjust knob so it wasnt ramping up very much at all... cranked that bad boy up and put a bit more compression in the rear shock and she's feeling much better now. Been collecting dust for the last week and a half though while I'm waiting on this finger to heal up. Waiting Sucks!!!
Thanks, never ridden Meadowbrook at all... Dont know too many trails around here to be honest. Mostly just get xc workouts in at hodges or daley and do my downhilling at Mammoth. I know a couple short 'secret' singletrack dh runs in san marcos that I practice on but I really need to get put on game for some local dh trails.
Look up meadow brook middle school on google earth or map quest it. There is a large canyon with many dh runs on it with many freestyle stunts. IronHorse team riders did a video there, and there are many people who ride there so if you want to meet riders go there.
Killer ride! Crank up that high speed compression on your fork to stop it from bottoming out as easy. I love the build. Don't know whether to grab it's ass or what!
No, it actually is a Stinky but a rather limited one. I think they only made these from '04-'06 if I remember right. It's a Stinky 'Supreme', basically the same thing as the Stab but badged as Stinky... Geometry and everything else was identical. The last of the 8" travel Stinkys, after this they were all 7" rides.
I know right... there's this 6" curb at the end of my driveway that's been pysching me out for weeks now. One day I'll get the courage to hit it tough. Might have to get some new armor first though!
It only cost me $100 USD, but I got a crazy good deal. It was on ebay and no one else bid... one advantage of being a big guy I guess, the spring rate that I think is just right, everyone else thinks is too stiff so not so much competition. Saved me over a half pound though and really makes the suspension feel more lively.
