Sideways looks even worse. Just NOT. Put Mondraker Kaiser, a SC V10 and a freeride bike of your choice in an orgy and you will get this ulgy THING. Poor dog, if i were him i wouldn't want such an ugly bike with my name on it. Its just my opinion.
I think it's a beauty. I think they will work out some of the kinks and dislikes over time (like they've done with the nomad, blur and jackal). Too bad I'd have to sell my soul to get one.
The bike looks sick, except for the seat mass, it just looks awkward! I understand the reasoning behind why it looks like that, but I really don't think that people buying this bike will ever honestly use the seatpost extension to climb all that much. If that was really an issue, then they should have gone with a design that incorporates a full seat tube. This bike should really have a slack seattube angle like the V-10, it would look 10x sicker like that.
i hope you realize that both V10, and Nomad have a 67 degree head angle when sitting at stock height. and considering they haven't told us the head angle. i would be willing to place my money on this being 67 as well
Jwmbike14 - kopp-productions is not talking about the head angle, but the seat tube angle, big difference. The seat tube angle doesn't sit back like the v-10 does. I agree with him, they should have made it more like the V-10. Nnobody is going to be climbing without a front derailleur. Personally, I wish they would make a long travel free-ride bike again like the VP-Free, with a front derailleur. The bike looks good though.
true. but it is possible. i pedal my V10 to the top of the mountain. we have a 1/4 mile climb after the shuttle and i normally pedal up. personally i think its a reasonable idea. but thats my 2cents.
I'm not digging the curved downtube and host of DH bike features. 12x150 rear axle, 83mm bb shell. To make it more versatile, they should have gone with a 10x135 Maxle and a standard 73mm shell.
honestly i personally think its a tad bit ugly. im sure it feels super sick, but overall im not super impressed. i like the way the old vp free's looked but this does have a lower center of gravity which makes it better but the looks kills it for me.
I don't know what they're going on about up there, but I could not possibly think of a better position for the cockpit, the bike is f*cking well balanced, the rear piece is a master piece and, as an overall achievement, I can also say it is indecently gougeous (look at that cobra headset and the hump, is it not beautifull?). Moreover, look now into the stock setup (DTs, Thomsom seatpost, that Totem coiler, those cranks, etc.). I don't know about you guys, but I really don't feel like I wanna change anything in that bike: it is just so good as it is.
