Yeah, my friend has the slash 7 coil, but never really rode it, he doesnt like other people touching his stuff, haha, i started riding bmx like 2 months ago, pretty fun, easier to learn stuff than mtb and dj'ing type stuff and the crashes arent that consequential, haha
I liked it quite a lot, when I had it. Sold it this winter, we don't have any decent mountains and it really isn't built for "urban freeride", so I got rid of it. The new owner, at least, can take it to some decent cliffs and parks.
There isn't really a difference between the Air and the Coil. The shock that comes on the Coil isn't that great, not really progressive and I found myself bottoming it out a lot, even with my weight and on jumps and drops that weren't really big.
You can try the Slash, then. The 7" models seem to have a problem with the tire rubbing on the seat tube at full compression, and you can't run a 2.5" tire in the back for long if you have weak rims, as soon as the rim goes out of true, it starts rubbing on the swingarm (this is on the 5 and 7 models as far as I know).
