If they're not addressing the design issues, it's got to make you think they only cost a few dollars to make.
There's a general problem also with bike magazines and Web sites not fully testing the gear they rate well. The real world user comments and feedback are more valuable.
Race Face has been great to work with when talking about warrantee replacement, but it seems there are a lot of issues with the SL cranks. Once you get a warrantied product replaced they ask you to destroy the broken crank arms.
@seraph: without a doubt they are great cranks for most people. I have found the XC race team riders whom ride 3-6000 miles a year and have thighs like tree trunks brake them at least once a year, some multiple times. One has to understand that carbon does have downsides and can fail but like I said before RF warranty is really good to deal with.
