Thanks! Yeah, Ive been eyeballin the 6,5x47 l for the better part of a year or so. Next to me there are 35 cases prepped and ready for the first ladder test.
@chaserider: the .243 Win. is pretty popular over here. It has a 6.18x51mm casing. I'll need to compare ballistics on both bullet, it should be similar although I'd never bet against a lapua caliber, shoot as flat as it comes.
@FastDHR: From what I have read, the .243 can be hard to get good to great accuracy out of. Its only what I have read and I have never fired one, let alone done ladder testing and such. There are great bullets for it, something along the 105 grain boattails should do the trick, in a fast twist barrel. Around here the 6,5mm calibers just make more sense, they are cheaper to get and more components are available, since all national competition shooting hovers around the old 6,5 Swedish Mauser.
