Also how is the CCDB? I can't stop blowing through the travel on my CTD. Going to try more air again this weekend, apparently it can take upto 300psi, but I wouldn't want to run with that for huge periods of time. Does your CCDB pedal uphill ok?
Im so impressed with the CCDB. It feels almost bottomless if that makes sense. So much better than the CTD.
Pedalling efficiency isn't as good but the feel more than makes up for it.
Think I was running my CTD at around 240psi. Is crazy!
As for the hardtail, it's a Orange Crush. I've built it up before but it's off getting resprayed at moment. Might drop the forks to 150mm
Thought it may be the crush, was going to say are they not quite long for a crush? Think frame is only upto 150 max. I can't wait to see the build mate. It's going to be immense!
I might just run them at 170 with more sag, not sure. Its a second hand frame so doesn't have any warranty on it which would be invalid with longer forks. Just been for a night ride, the 55's are amazing! I'm very tempted to get another set for the Five. Know anyone who want to buy some 2014 Fox 36 Talas? haha
I know. That's what I'm thinking! Can't wait to try some proper trails, hope the rain goes away before the weekend. Don't wanna have to get mud tires back out!
Mate don't talk to me about tyres, I am pulling my hair out trying to decide what to buy. Looking at rubber queen black chilli, but my hoops have stupid mavic xm319 rims which mean I can only go up to 2.3 tyres. Thinking I need to change to flow rims which I could do with out to be honest. This bike is starting to get dear!
I've just put these tires on the Five, Onza Ibex. Swapped them with my mate for some mountain kings. They are amazing. I love them, rode them pretty hard on Sunday and they were great. Roll well, grip amazing, had to try really hard to get them to slide out.
They are 2.25 so should be good on your rims. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.
