After two years of covert development YT Industries released first pictures and informations about their new carbon Enduro "Capra". The 27.5 wheeled bike comes with 170 mm travel (Pro) and according to the German bike company the "mountain goat" combines the fun of a Downhill machine with the uphill skills of an All Mountain bike. That´s why YT decided to use a head angle of 65.5°, a short chainstay and a seat angle of 75°.

A medium sized frame weights 2,4 kg and seems to be made of one piece. To get this kind of look, YT Industries used the carbon monocoque construction. According to the bike company the "Capra" frame handles a 30% higher load as a aluminium downhill frame on a test bench.
The YT Industries "Capra" is available in three different price levels:

CAPRA Pro 3.999 € (price in Germany)

This is insane@ £100 more than a specialized enduro comp and you get a carbon frame, carbon wheels (i think?) and a dropper post (which is a reverb as well). Plus is looks awesome and apparently rides awesome too! ridiculous! I hope the success of YT helps bring down prices across the industry. heres hoping they're not sold out when I've finally got the money together

Yeah, but the top carbon build still weights nearly 13kg. It probably falls somewhere between alloy Enduro Elite 650b and the Enduro Expert Carbon 650b. I'd wager the $5600 cabon c Nomad would be most comparable in terms of cost/weight. Not a bad deal by any means, but I don't think it's 'insanely' cheap.

What happened to the black pro spec version from dirt? Has that colour been canned?

I asked YT about that, the black yellow will not see production, shame, as that looked WAY better

Cube will be sold, and Capra will be bought. Decision made. Best bike I've seen so far. Got the big wheels and the travel, and the colour scheme matches my helmet. Stickers Wink
