bro.... it snowed/freezing rain/hailed/rained today more than it did all "winter". winter is drunk and reallys needs to go home, it's just embarrassing itself at this point.
The fella at the start of the movie in the shop - Buck, runs vertigo tours ..https://www.vertigomtb.com.au/ . Hire of very decent bikes and shuttles up all the tracks (around an hour of mostly DH from the very top). Basically fly in with a helmet and you are sorted. There's a few b&b's in the Derby area but Buck gives lifts each morning by appointment from the nearby town of Launceston, where there is plenty of accomodation (and direct flights from/to Melbourne). Best trails I have ridden in Australia... do it
Those Tasmanian trails look amazing. Flows, rollers, jumps, and tech all at once! Definitely built for wide bars giving you some line choice room while still being singletrack. I want to go there now. Wyn, keep on shredding and being such a fun ambassador for our sport. But please don't take up acting. I'm. Not seeing an Oscar, Tony, or Emmy in your immediate future. :-)
dam awesome video. I think I saw a platapus, jack jumper ants, bull ants, a white pointer, a cone snail or two, a couple of crocs, a tiger shark , a sea snake...funnel web spider, blue ring octo, brown snake, box jellyfish, bull sharks, .stingy catapillers...a few dugars.....and some other highly venomus snakes. Riding Austrailia makes you more badass than you are , by default alone. have a Fosters.
On a bad day, -2ish to 10 degrees Celsius in the dead of winter. Can also be a tad wet but not horrendous. Either side of mid winter is pretty nice and perfect riding weather. Check with Buck at www.vertigomtb.com.au, for shuttle open times during the cooler months ✌????
