dam went there last summer and it was my first time doing DH (MTB for that fact) and dam it was a dream then i had to move to shitty ontario from vancouver and ontario is really flat but whistler what i would do to go there again
hey Mercenarie501, i'm from Onscario too but lets get it right girls: Ontario is NOT all flat - there are mountains all over the place; they may not be as high as BCs but it depends on where you live the same as here [ ever try downhilling in the Okanagan Valley - not happening! and a bunch of other places i could name where you can't ride here ] northern Ontario has endless DH trails and even Toronto's Don Valley and i can name a s**t load of other places in Ontario where you can DH - since you are a newby to DH MTBing it's probably a good idea to shut up, and ride for a few years before you try commenting on something you know squat about. meantime, just came back from the Sunshine Coast [ Mach Chicken, Red baron Etc. ] rode SFU yesterday and next week i'm off to Whistler...can ya feel the love. happy trails.
[ ever try downhilling in the Okanagan Valley - not happening!
you should figure out what you're talking about.... Kamloops, Kelowna, Silver Star and Sun Peaks are just a few places in the Okanagan Valley where you can DH so maybe YOU should shut up and ride a few years before you start talking smack....especially if you're claiming good DHing in the Don Valley hahahahaha
ok jcinkits lets see the don has only one trail that is straight down and has like 2 small root parts and is about 30 secs and has like no turns the rest of the trails are up and down with like 5 sec down wow really fun since they are made for xc shit with some skinnies in it oh ya a small jump here or there and i dont know what you talking about okanagan valley has a shit load of mountains my aunt has a house right on the lake and ill tell you one thing it is no were near flat and yes ontario is not completely flat like theres blue but there is no other chairlefts around unless ur ready to drive to quebec and thats hard when you dont have a licences or ride there. yes i know there is the ocup but its such a waste of money like really 110 for one weekend thats insane and on race day you dont even get more then 7 runs including ur race runs so why would i pay so much for one weekend let alone the sign up cost. now yes dirt jumps here are doing pretty well the the biking community is pretty alive just not downhill and joyrides sick just putting that out there.
501 The Don has changed no doubt; used to be a sick trail off the farmers orchard straight down a ravine and others including the Bible Run behind a monastery - no easy ride - i will be more specific next time and up to date, but still, those oversized'hills' artbarn refers to are good enough for BD rating in a lot of places...as for the Oki...dust balls are not my thing when riding behind someone so i'll stick to the Shore, Coast and Whistler - my point was: why be so down on good ol Onterrible - it is what it is - enjoy. and if you think ocup is costly, have you actually been to Whistler ?! big money, and if you can put up with the 'tude' from the local A liners you may actually enjoy your rip. meanwhile, do it [ dirt DH whatever ] and if you are ever coming out here send me an e and i will be happy to take you with me on some sickfunrides [ when i'm not talking smack :-) w/ apologies to lunchboxlarry ] and oh, just a word to emarciniak: DUUUUHHHH. YEP, guess i'll have to be careful when i try to make a point based on my limited understanding of some areas for riding...but still, i may not be too smart but at 67 my balls are still big enough to do Garbonzo @ Whistler, Mach Chicken, Red Baron and other BDs on the coast and even lower Gear Jammer @ SFU full on point and shoot no brakes baby heads for breakfast! thanks for keeping me real though. happy trails.
Wish I could rip like these women! Hope my daughters see this and get amped to ride even more. Whistler next weekend for a week of riding! Now that's a way to celebrate. Thanks Miranda, Katrina and Rebecca for the motivation.
gotcha! yep. i have some pussy lookin stuff [ small ramp hucks and a drop 7foot easy tranny posted on my profile but they are gnarlier than they look ]
