Poll: What is the Forum's Sexiest AM/FR/Enduro Hardtail of 2018?

 Not sure why they didn't include it

 Shan GT won 2 years ago, when the frame was released. Great paint jobs, but would have needed something new to be nominated again.

 As others mentioned, poll is used generated. PP Shan GT is actually a few years old now and the geo is actually a bit dated. PP does use some really nice tubing, but the hardtail world is patiently waiting longer and slacker!

 Tell us where "Pinkbike" (The article was user generated, says so right over the title) was supposed to get the price tag from, when all bikes are customer user builds? None of these are off the shelf bikes.

 @privateer-wbc: I know this is probably something really new to you but you get a calculator and you add up the total of the components and frame you get a total cost freaking amazing right if you're smart enough to do math you could add the figures in your head but since you don't even understand how to get a grand total of a cost I doubt you can do that

 @privateer-wbc: I've built every bike I've ever owned from a frame-up and I know exactly how much it cost. Sorry this is so difficult for you to understand. At the end of the day I would expect nothing less out of a pinkbike user.

 @stinkbikelies: price tags obviously matter more for you than me. I don't feel the need to track them, or advertise the price of my bike - zero value in doing so for me.

 @privateer-wbc: it is actually a huge value. Every time I cherry-pick a build my end price is usually less than a stock offering. I do shop deals and sales to make this happen but I can always build a higher-end bike than a stock offering for less money. Sorry you see no value in this I think this should be advertised to everyone that they could build a nicer bike than they could buy off the shelf stock.

 @stinkbikelies: Sure, if my initial goal was to advertise this bike and my ability to source parts on the cheap to others there would have been value in keeping track of price - sure. But the initial goal was purely to build the bike I wanted - without much expense spared - not to advertise anything to anyone. I am greatful that my bike was chosen to be on this list, and that's been a super cool experience, but let me be perfectly clear - I didn't build the bike for this list, or to win any contest and I didn't build the bike for anyone but own anal and obsessive self. You might say it was a purely selfish endeavor, and money was not that much a concern. If my intent was to beat an off-the-shelf model price tag and componentry, I likely would have spec'ed with a Rockshox fork, Shimano or SRAM brakes and cranks, DT 350 hubs or something similar (and not made the list above, I will add), but I didn't. The frame, fork, cranks, and wheels alone cost more than Chromags top spec bike with Lyrics, X01 eagle, guide brakes, etc etc. Arguably (actually, not even), Chromags build actually provides much better value, and is cheaper. But, I wanted the Chromag carbon bars, I wanted the Helm, I wanted the eeWings, I wanted Industry Nine, I wanted Hope brakes and stem, I wanted Cane Creek 110 headset, I wanted XTR shifting (I did skimp here by not going 12 SPD)...and largely wanted nothing to do with SRAM in general. And if I am going to be honest with you, probably, I did't want to remind myself that I paid more to get what I want!!

 @privateer-wbc: to each his own. At the end of the day I choose cycling goodies with best performance for cheapest cost. I would rather show up on an old outdated bike with three year old stuff and smoke everybody on a ride then have everyone standing around the parking lot staring at my high-dollar machine that I'm afraid to get mud or a scratch on. A bike is just a tool to have fun on.

 @stinkbikelies: to each his own indeed. I for one don't consider a 3 year old bike outdated, and my favorite bike is my 2015 (4 year old now!) Kona Process 111. Can't say I smoke everyone I ride with because I sometimes rides with some very talented people, but I am by no means slow and no one is every waiting for me in the car park. And just because I spent a little extra on this bike doesn't mean I'll baby it - this bike was purpose to be ridden, hard.

 The bars allow for modern geometries that make a real difference on trail. Why would you choose an old fashioned bar that makes a bike slower?

 @pvd666: This poll is about what looks sexy. Your bars may be the greatest innovation the sport has ever seen, but for a lot of us they just don't look sexy. Glamourous Glennis is a sexy looking bike, the Warbird doesn't have the same aesthetic appeal.

 If only it could have been self nominated... I think the tan side walls tires would have been a great addition to the war. But the riders have spoken. Only bikes with proven bars and tan tires could win.

 They look super sexy. People are looking for the familiar rather than truly sexy. I could produce an old fashioned bike like the others do and get more votes. I pointed out so many details that are gorgeous on the bike that were ignored because they don't resemble a production bike of the last 30 years.

I don't understand the constant explaining by D something why it's being labeled as faster or better having never been on any pro riders bikes I've ever seen; not sexy. Probably why it's not on the list

 @pvd666: Actually, that article is the stupidest you've ever written. And not because of the style but because it reduces the world to black and white. There are not only experts and consumers, the world is a much more complex and nuanced place. There are power users, there are consumers who become experts, in fact some of today's most advanced builders were, in the beginning, consumers dissatisfied with existing technical solutions, there are experts, industrial designers, who do not aim to produce the best technical solution per se but to produce what works best for the consumer and so on... the line between experts and consumers has been blurred for over 60 years, thank God...
