Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all! So what did you Pinkbike community get this Christmas under the tree? Bikes? Parts? Gear? Upload it to Pinkbike and link to it in the comments and let's see what Santa brought this year.
A rockshox reverb post for my nomad. Thanks so much to my lovely wife who got some solid advice from pinkbike on sizing. Thank you pinkbike community for helping her out. Merry xmas to all.
Wife's/girlfriends that get into the gift giving spirit with MTB related presents are awesome! My girlfriend dropped me up our nearby mountain for a shuttle on Christmas Eve and bought us a trip to New Zealand to ride in Queenstown!
I think PB should open a Girlfriend/Wife Forum where girlfriends or wives of mountain bikers can get together complaining their own boyfriends' or husbands' "lovely" characteristics brought by this sport. Also they can discuss what gifts to give on holidays or birthdays!
My wife and I decided not to do gifts since we were going on a trip for Christmas. On Christmas Eve I asked her if she would wake me with something "special" on Christmas morning, wink wink. She obliged, but it turned out to be a cupped fart...
Cycling goodies included shimano MTB shoes, camelbak, santini road clothing (jacket and bib shorts), plus a timely goodwill gesture from the warranty department at SBC UK, after issue with my previous frame.
Pinkbike calendar en route apparently, raceface narrow wide, and hayes prime expert rear break. I guess now i have to go pretend to break my elbows so my girlfriend can hook it up
All it takes a good advertising campaign about proved healing benefits of any drug to change the views of the people overnight. Hey boys, repeat with me: weed good, cocaine bad.
Oh shit, I just realized the same thing happens to me every time I visit PB and read an article by Mr Cunninghan: Avid good, Shimano bad.
I got my first ride in since the 16th of November, only a couple of hours down the Nidd valley but I came back covered head to toe in mud and shite and my bike was sounding like it had been thrown in a gravel mixer, today has been a good day!
on mtb-news.de there is a game around the downhill worldcup since last year. you can bet on the top 5 male/female racers, best team and fastest qualifier male/female. the price for the winner was a scott gambler 2015, which i actually managed to win this worldcup season. i traveled home last friday for christmas and got the new bike. my 3rd bike. so i decided to give it to my little brother, who has better use for it. and here's what i got: i'm in the brolymp now. kind of. cheers guys, merry christmas
I got a collapsed lung for Christmas, still plan on going for a ride today, its like 60 degrees in colorado for christmas, theres no way I'm not going to go on a ride
Just got a bunch of nutrition stuff for riding. Bars, Gu, Shot-Blocks. Needed to take it easy this year as money is tight. I am thankful for what I have!
Not really a Christmas present, but since my birthday is on the 21st I'll count it. Girlfriend took me on a surprise mountain bike trip! She got all the gear packed and loaded up while I was at a dental appointment. Said "Get in the car" and we took off. Totally unexpected. Was an awesome trip!
Typical Christmas for Pshop -- lots of last minute purchases --- one boyee's getting a V-10, sold the last two NS Bikes Fuzz DH frames left to get in the 2014 inventory, a couple blingy Redline BMX bikes, a few random bling-bling items and lots of little knick-knacks.. Pretty weather related sales for local peeps --- this winter's been pretty mild so peeps are still thinking bikes -- shitty winters, far to many people around here go into biker hibernation. last sale for Pshop with a Fuzz DH frame with a Fox fork, nice way to end the Christmas season...hope you year round riders got the goodies you wanted.... If ya didn't PM me.
i got a PolarX 4X frame, a Truvativ Ruktion cranks with the mono, a 34t Shimano chainring, a 2013 Zee derailleur with a 9s speed Deore shifter, a 10s chain and a noname chainguide for 90€ I'm so happy now only a few things needed
A sports winter jacket and a winter hat from the girl, and aluminium legs for the dorado (to change the carbon ones - no more fear of cracking them wide open if and when I fall on a rock) from destiny and mere chance (god bless ebay!). But the girl ain't too happy about it...
down payment on a 2015 Aurum 6.2! Not in until March tho!!!!. And a new helmet - last one wasn't washable and wife finally banned it from the laundry room!
Cash which i just blew on a funn 45mm funnduro stem, gravity 777 (777mm) flat light bar which are normally 80 quid reduced to 15 and a set of deore brakeset now 32 quid each at Chain reaction cycles all for my giant trance. some good deals on there now so if you are needing parts at decent prices.
Raceface SixC handlebars and some Fox 40th anniversary decals for my fork and shock. Merry Christmas!
Unfortunately my bike is back at uni so I have to wait a few days to fit them, spreading the joy out over the festive period! Haha
Got a Atlas neck brace from the parents. Well actually I got $200 for "biking equipment".. Parents don't want to know how I ride my bike and why on earth I would need such gear. Love my parents
I bought myself some Fox Gold Fluid a new hemet. Im looking at buying a oval chainring.
As for christmas, nothing too interesting. Christmas is so blah... It doesnt help that its almost
50 degrees and sunny here in Omaha.
I put a down payment on a swanky, new, carbon fiber uberbike! Oh, and some, like, movies and candy and stuff. And a novelty coffee mug proclaiming my maternal superpowers despite my lack of maternal status.
2014 Felt Compulsion LT3! LBS has it on sale (for me special price, my friend!) at under 2 grand! Maybe not totally uberbike status, but it's got a pike on it, and it's my first new new bike since the inexpensive hardtail I started on! Maximum stoked!
www.helmethooker.com/hooker.html A very much appreciated (and essential) biking accessory when you are lucky enough (as I am) to call the BC rainforest and the North Shore your home. HOOK IT, DRY IT, FIND IT, USE IT
I always get fly fishing stuff for some reason even though I don't even fish....but hey the waterproof gear is always nice to ride in when its wet out!
My lovely wife got me Won't Back Down (bit late to the party i know), some Peatea tea bags and some non-enduro mudguards. And finally got meself a full face too. Merry christmas to you lovely pinkbikers too
I have seen "wont back down" about six times now, it's an awesome movie. I have shown it to people who are not into biking and they love it too. It brings a tear to my eyes everytime I see it.
Well it looks like i have to wait till I'm back home as the mother in law's dvd doesn't work! But at least i can watch it on bluray instead. (Thanks to PB for the dual disc pack). I've heard it's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster so i might have to watch it on my own the first couple of times!
i got 2 day passes to coast gravity bike park and a prepaid ferry card to cover the costs of going... as well as a new Hardtail frame! park passes from the lady and the frame from Polygon! (it came 2 months early)
For some reason, our family get-together isn't until tonight (Boxing Day), so no idea what may turn up under the tree this year....but back in Sept/Oct, I treated myself to a new Source Paragon 25L backpack c/w 3l Hydration bladder, some new drivetrain bits, some new XT Race clipless pedals (to replace my ~18-20 yo Shimano 737's), 2 new Geax Buro Mtn 26x2.3 Tires & some Soma steel core tire irons.
Park TS2.2, a load of other park goodies, easton carbon bars, saint pedals, Thomson direct mount stem, Raceface narrow wide chainring, new grips, SDG saddle and a few hope bits including a new DH Top. I bought myself a V10 :-)
I have a box full of components as my Transition Patrol frame still has not arrived..... Nevermind, it means something to look forward to in January....
My other half got me (early present) a 2014 demo 8 carbon... BLOWN AWAY is a understatment. So as i had another bike i have given her my old Kona stinky(dope) she loves it Couple Dh sessions are in the near future
My bro got me a sweet set of azonic flow bars and hussefelt stem for my 12 year old Balfa, Mom got me a red hope seat collar and deity bars for another old Balfa... thanks guys you RULE !!
My girlfriend flew all the way to the other side of the world to come visit me here during my work trip here in Cape Town, during christmas and my birthday. Couldn't have asked for a better gift.
Early gift for myself. I bought a 2015 Rocky Mountain Altatude 770. Had it out 3 times before I started skiing. Love the snow but I can't wait until it warms up a bit.
140mm pikes for my trans-am!
even though she's not a huge bike nut she went round all my mates asking advice and the lbs too!
she's a keeper for sure!!!
I got to go for a ride. Here in Iowa are normaly knee deep in snow right now, but thanks to global warming I was riding amongst green foliage. Never happend before.
troy lee kit and lots of money to put towards a car that I was also able to buy to be able to transport bikes, and lastly a powder day was quite an epic present as well. Not as good as bike parks but still fun though!
She obliged, but it turned out to be a cupped fart...
