I think the line is really thin with all the support privateers like him get. The list of his sponsors is longer than some factory teams...

Long list of supporters, he gets great deals on stuff and some free stuff, but a non privateer gets more free stuff than they can use and gets stuff custom made, making less sponsors worth more. The thin line isn't as thin as it seems.

There is also a BIG difference between being supported with parts and actually being payed to represent a company. The flights for a whole EWS season alone must cost a small fortune!

In his case the list grew bigger along the season : a the beginning he financed his season via a crowfunding, then some sponsors came along with the results.
Lets hope he gets a team for next year
