The opening date of the french Bikeparks have been announced. Bernex will open on the 27th of June as will Châtel and Morzine. Les Gets has been open since this weekend.
Good news then after these hard times.
But Vinny didn’t wait for the openings of the bikeparks. He took his eMTB for a spin on the local trails of Bernex Bikepark.
| I love the fact that I can get to the top of the bikeparks before the openings. The first run down on the fresh trails, after the winter, is one of the best feelings.—Vinny T |
He's riding trail, we are typing on a robot.
Looks to me like he is having fun, shredding berms, riding wheelies in the woods. Why do you go biking? Is it to act like you never use technology from your grass hut and your hamster wheel powered pinkbike computer or phone? You're probably tired from all that pedaling so you generate enough watts so you can hate on E-bikes. Are you sweating yet? Oh no, whoops, i'm sorry, that's egg on your face.
No to say that there aren't tons of middle aged Joeys out there too
Except the problem is you've described the majority of the MTB world in general, not just eMTB. I don't care if you and your buddies are young shredders, you are in the minority of people on the planet buying mountain bikes. If your problem with eMTBs are simply what you feel is not "truth in advertising", then you should have a problem with all MTB ads in general that are not just slow-pokes tooling around in the woods.
Tons of ppl ride off season like in Morzine and Avoriaz. The local are pretty respectful but they mainly do it when the season is over in september/october.
Too true. Went to a YT demo day in Forest Of Dean last year. I waited patiently for a medium capra to become free - it was the only reason i was there. Was thinking of buying one and wasn't sure on the sizing.
Meanwhile, all the kids were ignoring all the other bikes and were desparately clambering to get hold of the Decoys. All of them. It's just another new thing to them and they just wanted to have fun on it.
In much less words.... I am now too lazy to ride a bike uphill, this electric motorcycle is nice.
Step forward for freeride as I see it- access more remote locations, more laps and the emtbs are only going to get better with technology.
On my EMTB I can pedal up the huge steep climbs nearby that and near impossible to ride up on any regular pedal bike. On my EMTB I go many places that I would not on my regular pedal bikes and explore new areas all the time. No big deal if the trails end or don't go anywhere, as I just turn around and try some more trails. One bonus that many non-sayers don't know is EMTB's can actually help keep you in shape as you usually ride longer and further and sometimes even ride when you might not feel like it on your regular pedal bike. Really, the biggest bonus is having a smile on your face when climbing really steep trails, which I can't say I do on my regular pedal bikes. Having a big smile on your face is what this sport is all about and why we are all in it, to have fun...
What some people don't get is EMTB's are really just a bicycle with "PEDAL ASSIST" and maybe a bit heavier. There is NO throttle like a motorbike on a ebike. An EMTB has different power modes, so you can pick how much assist you want. The amount of assist on Eco or Trail mode is also based on how much power you actually put into the pedals. If you pedal really hard, you will get more power assist, so EMTB's can be a good workout, especially in the lower power modes. I rode dirt bikes (motoX) for years and EMTB's are nothing the same. The difference between a motorbike and a EMTB is as far apart as you can get. Again, EMTB's are just like a regular pedal bike, and they feel the same to ride, and really the only difference is they are a bit heavier and have pedal assist.
If any of you ebike bashers still don't get it, please click on "Block" ebike content, so we do not have to continuously read some of these ridiculous comments anymore, as they are getting a bit old now...
