It's been over a decade since Tom Bradshaw has found himself between the tape on a DH course, but while he was down in Rotorua for Crankworx he couldn't resist the urge to give it a go once again.
Well done, Tom. Let's get you to a 100 mile gravel race in the spring...we can see which Outside employee is fastest when the terrain turns from rowdy to gravely - you want in on this too @mikelevy ?
@Mr-Steven-Harper: I saw the email it’s just triggering that pinkbike is being bought by a company not worthy of something so great. (I already have Trailforks pro does that mean anything?)
The fact that he could commentate during his race run and self motivate all together is astonishing! Also makes for one of the most exciting ways to view the sport for spectators! Well done Tom!!
Well done Tom-o! Loved this piece and could tell you were proper worried haha but you saved the best and cleanest run for last when it counted most. Even I want to do a DH race now!
How good! You got so much better on your race run than your first (dry) practice laps. Sadly, your performance improved as your commentary became intelligible which is usually the draw of a good Tom edit. Probably just needed more steak pies!
Well done @Tombrad! I know how you feel. I hadn't raced a DH since I was a junior expert at the US National champs in Mammoth back in 2004, and this past season I competed in Two DH races with the NW Cup. It felt so good to get back between the tape. Good on ya mate! Keep up the good content. Cheers!
@notoutsideceo … I don’t care who owns pink bike, it was still good content and fun to watch. PS, No one, and I mean no one wants to watch 100 mile gravel race, BORING.. even if @mikelevy was racing. Great job @Tombrad -Cheers
check out cathro's how to bike series! full of great tips for just about every aspect of getting you and your bike moving quicker, and plenty of advanced stuff in there for non-beginners that can take a season or more to get down
@jbirdz , @rcwellie has good point.. you can't go wrong with pies, kiwi meat pies to be exact. But also for me, it's about setting little personal goals. Make them super achievable and that gets my confidence up. Also, have a laugh. Eat pies.
Tom is probably the best person hired by PB lately... as well as Christina Chapetta, Ben Cathro... OK, I like them all, for their simplicity, their good mood, their nonchalance, and for the humble commitment they put in what they're doing. It's very refreshing to have them on Pinkbike. Cheers nice people!!!
