What does Sam Hill get up to when he's not winning back-to-back Enduro World Series titles? He jumps on his downhill bike shining a dust-filled foot-out, flat-out light on what's been a pretty dark year so far!
Watch this raw edit of the Team Chain Reaction Cycles racer tearing up his local trails on board a Nukeproof Dissent. A perfect reminder of what an incredible rider he is - whatever the bike.
things this video doesn't have that no one misses... Bedroom scene of rider waking up Kitchen scene of come coffee/breakfast for rider Slow motion dressing and putting on helmet and goggles Gratuitous shots of dog accompanying you on ride to trailhead in your tacoma random nature grabs before the shred happens
@juicebanger: He is hitting the first turn so fast that the gyroscopic forces turn the goggles until it snaps into place on his face. Easy as that . . .
no huge sprint into the trail timed perfectly with fast music, no blowing up berms...all business, clean lines, calm upper body, eyes up....its amazing to watch. It looks like he just out for a cruise, the same as when hes competing, never rushed, I dont get it but its awesome to watch....looking forward to 2021
Hey instagram kids, pay attention. This is what fast looks like. Note the absence of "schralping", sped up footage (or footage filmed in slo-mo then playing at full speed... naughty!) and terrible drum & bass track...
@speedfreek: it’s so true. Came up on two riders with a cameraman filming a Instagram edit at the local bike park the other day trying to look fast. Too bad me and a buddy caught up to them in two turns carrying 50% more speed and ruining their shot...
I heard that term, "schralping", for the 1st time in a bible mountain bike test of the Evil Following. Still not entirely sure what that even means. And feel like I am ok with not knowing.
Didn’t one of the New World Disorder movies have a similar section with Kirt Vories (I think) riding with just the bike and dirt as his soundtrack? And I think Kovarik released one a few years ago.
I was about to buy the predictable Impact Pros last year, but in the last minute decided on the Sam Hills, something like "well, why not? If Sam likes them so much there must be something there".
An year later, riding 3 times a week, those things are stil lookingl nearly new, grip like crazy, deliver ultimate protection and are amazing to walk on really rough terrain. I only ever feel the weight while walking, but heavy duty approach shoes are also heavy
Love videos like this one. No 20 m+ gaps, no riding into the abyss, just enjoying the ride. It's the kind of riding anyone of us could do. Doesn't matter it'd be 7 times slower.
@commental: I echo this. I pushed on his forks before his win in South Africa the first time for Twr. Despite being 40% heavier I couldn’t get his fork to compress more than an inch or two. I then watched a race run that bottomed the fork multiple times and still to this day can’t fathom. Also, if you haven’t watched pro’s talking suspension, I am not sure most know which knobs do what.
@usedbikestuff: The round blue knob makes the bouncing happen faster, the little black knob adjusts how loud the squishy sound is and the big orange knob at the top runs America.
This made me look forward to downhill Ebikes. We finally we get to 12 seconds of pushing a bike uphill back. I wonder how long that compilation would be of all bike pushing scenes put together.

Just saying.
Is that right?
