@myfriendgoose: Burger King? McDonalds? Mags tacos and burritos are decent enough and pretty damn tasty after a big ride/ski day. Never tried the chicken.
@gramboh: I mean I'd eat if you paid me. I've gotten sick from Mags burritos one too many times and I'm nowhere near the only one, if you check the yelp/google reviews. Locavore FTW.
@myfriendgoose: It's all part of the 'Squamish uniform'. Ride a Santa Cruz, drive a Tacoma, Xterra etc, name check Mags 99 for some reason. This is the only place on the planet where I can ride a Trek and drive a Honda Civic and feel alternative
We went 2 times during thanksgiving and had no lines either time. I think it was like 4pm both times. I had to poop so bad by the time we reached the boarder.... I thought for sure I was going to add a chapter to my boarder crossing memior.
Love watching that guy ride, it's no no-nonsense, 100% in control, nothing flashy, function completely over form. He's like an old Toyota Landcruiser, void of any creature comforts, no chrome, robust and well tuned to one specific job which makes it cool as hell.....the lack of showmanship in and of itself creates style like I've never seen before.
@Veloscente: Pretty sure Rude Boy Train was written in England after Dekker moved to Croyden S. London (where I'm from originally) SB666 was referring to the dubstep track played after
@zorba73: Turns our you're right about Dekker's move to the UK in 1969, but I was sloppy in citing the re-release date of Rude Boy Train, which Dekker wrote, recorded & released in 1967 w/ Leslie Kong at Beverley's Records in Kingston.
It is amazing to see how selective he is to what is and what is not worth reacting to. Plowing vs sending, zapping. Also One Up is in top 3 of my favorite bike companies. They deserve all the praise, from chainrings and cassette expanders to reliable and fuunctional pedals, to finish with what seems to be the best dropper post out there. Squamish, Yeti and Fox to top it all. I love such promos, just going yeah, yeah, yeah!
@marconi: love my oneup stuff, however, the remote lever for the dropper is rubbish. my knee tapped it slightly and it was gone. replaced with wolftooth...
Yeah, I got me a set of One Up composite pedals to try flats on and they are great. Been a spd guy most my mtb time but with some decent shoes and these pedals, I feel planted. Thinking of upgrading them to their alu flats as I am that impressed.
Richie, seems a no nonsense rider. Good lines, rails and has fun just tearing down the track.
@gnarterrorist: I had to file down the pins on my alus, there’s just too much grip with My 5.10 freeriders pro. Just s bit less than with Boomslangs which were horrible. If my foot got bumped aside, there was no way to reposition it without lifting the leg off the pedal, meaning, I had to ride on one pedal for a moment, maybe even stop. And finding a good spot on such grippy pedal isn’t easy. In such case I may as well clip in. But when I filed them down they are good. My shins are happier too
Favorite recent memory was watching him with my kids at EWS Aspen Stage 2 and my kids absolutely losing their mind when Riche came charging down the hillside. That was soon followed up by him absolutely crushing me on my home track a short time after. Go Richie!
I like how Shimano still hasn't sent the guy a new groupset...they must be sending those same XTR 12 speed groupsets to everyone for press events and then hoarding them in between
Incredible riding. It's great to see videos of just good 'ol semi-steep, rooty, fast singletrack.
I'm not a park kinda guy so it's fun watching this guy flow through this stuff with such ease.
The fork seems to work perfectly, the front wheel tracks the terrain and never loses contact with the ground...but then again, with RR on top, it has no other option!
I will...He swears he walked into a shop and bought them. Says they are comfy and Yeti does not make pants, Just shorts. He has had them for over a year so he must really like them.
No snow on the coast. Kinda sucks cuz ski season is supposed to start, but I was riding up high in Squamish today and it was mint, same area as Richie in this video actually . Sunny and 11C.
@gramboh: Them the breaks, either there is snow and mtb is away on holiday whilst you ski or no snow and you ride whilst ski's wait impatiently to be hammered again.
1. Squamish will be okay as long as you only do hot laps on Credit Line. 2. This was not Credit Line or a Hot Lap. 3. One Up Smarten Up. Stop Shralping Fu&$ers. 4.Jesse Melamed, this guy just Shralped your trails.(welcome to Squamish)
