Imagine finally getting your vid on Friday Fails and its the last one and completely covered in links lol
  • 192 3
Seems like a fair punishment for filming in vertical
  • 24 1
That makes it a double fail!
  • 6 0
The last 3 shots were the most painful, with a barb wire closeout!
[vertically filmed]
  • 3 0
 Mike Wazowski style
  • 1 0
3:56 landing on the boards caused me some sympathetic pain. Somehow, planks can feel harder than rocks.
  • 2 0
 @focofox37: ZING!!
  • 1 0
Adblock Plus > Block element > click on annoying links. May need to block element several times until they disappear.
  • 1 0
How long did you have to wait
  • 69 0
If we get one thing from the bike boom its gonna be longer better friday fails videos.
  • 8 0
Ooh, bonus! Something to do while we wait for parts to restock.
  • 4 0
Why there are no ebike fails though? Editor's selection, or ebikers do nor crash?
  • 4 4
 @lkubica:
Is there any article you do not comment?
  • 2 1
@lkubica: They're waiting on ePinkbike to launch.
  • 7 5
@lightone: yes more than I comment actually, but if you have any stats, please post them. Was not aware that there are commenting limits on PB. When I extract comment stats per user and it occurs that there are people who comment more, will you be so brave and comment on this under their comments?
  • 5 0
@lkubica: it would just be latte spills on the top tube
  • 5 0
@lkubica: 2:40 in the video. eBike crash.

Bonus points that the filmer has his phone clipped to his handlebars.
  • 2 0
 @lightone: where's WAKI?
  • 56 0
Friday Fails: Presented by lack of grip from Kenda tires.
  • 8 2
Nah the biggest problem in this week's video was all the atrociously bad weight distribution
  • 2 1
@NorCalNomad: Way too much front brake as well. It was obvious a few times.
  • 5 0
the assblaster to nose manual appears quite popular with younger riders
  • 3 0
@NorCalNomad: You could pretty much put this comment on endless repeat for every Friday.
  • 4 4
Have you ridden a Kenda in the last 5 years? I’ll choose a Hellkat Front, Pinner Rear every time over a minion or magic Mary. If you have ridden them then... this is awkward...
  • 35 0
people are finally pulling up too hard.
  • 26 0
 1:00 makes no sense.

Kid has the skills and stones land a jump off what looks like a ramp made by pirates who forgot to steal enough wood and nails, but then eats it on a "normal" jump made of dirt.
  • 29 0
I will frequently complete a technical trail with features at mach chicken successfully and then crash on the mellow connector trail below it. That crash makes perfect sense, ha!
  • 7 0
I see your point. But I'm far more comfortable on drops than I am jumps. So I can see myself getting similarly gun shy at the last-second in that situation.
  • 8 0
@pmhobson: I'm in the same boat on the jump/drop divide, but that drop from "ye olde splintery triangle" seemed orders of magnitude scarier than the gap across the grass pillow.

Whatever, I should stop typing, lest the crash gods strike me down on some tiny pebble at a trailhead parking lot.
  • 1 0
It makes perfect sense. Dude dumped all his speed and cased it.
  • 3 0
It looked to me like he meant to go slower and roll the jump, but didn't or couldn't slow down enough. Hard to know for sure tho.
  • 5 0
Upvoted for your ramp description, if anything
  • 2 0
I think he was trying to not jump the jump, but couldn't slow down enough thanks to a single brake. damn dirtjump bikes are so fun to ride, and so easy to crash
  • 2 0
@steezysam: Your explanation makes quite a bit of sense.
  • 1 0
@rickybobby18: mach chicken made my brain hurt.
  • 1 0
How are we ignoring the the fact there is a frisbee golf goal right next to this jump park? i mean, it's literally right in the middle...WTF...might as well add a bocce course within the gap.

 Friday fails- nose dive edition
  • 16 0
 "You good?"
Pretty sure he's not good
  • 13 0
Right - he just slid across a concrete driveway, there's nothing good about that
  • 7 0
I couldn't help but think of Napoleon Dynamite when I saw that ramp.
  • 9 0
Haha- I love that he yells "You Good?" as he is literally still sliding on his face on the driveway... not in an ideal position to accurately assess the damage yet. But fair play for being concerned about your friend.
  • 17 0
I just assumed that was the first part of MTB first aid triage.

1. Ask the casualty "You good bro?".
2. The casualty will always respond "I'm good" regardless of injury status so you'll have to judge based on tone whether they are good or not, or how not good they are.
3. ALWAYS inform them of the state of their bike. Doing maths calculations of how much they can spend on new parts will help them maintain conciousness.
4. If you accompany the casualty to medical assitance, you can help the doctors by giving a detailed explanation as to the cause of the injuries:
"Just massively cased it"
"Front wheel wash-out bro"
"The lip was just like really sketchy"
"Pulled up too hard"
"F**king SRAM/Shimano"

@egb81: AAHAHAHAHHAH,, only thing missing was a good NUTSMAKER!
  • 1 0
 @egb81: pegs,shocks...sweet!
  • 13 0
The laugher at 3:40. I can't decide he would be hilarious, or super, super annoying to have ride down the hill after you.
  • 3 0
Those guys had to have burned a couple before that ride. I don't think anyone was having a bad day.
  • 12 0
That was not laughter. It was their trail hyena alerting other trail users that riders were approaching.
  • 3 0
 @dllawson819:

Excellent work. You got an actual lol out of that one.

I'm totally adopting this term.
  • 1 0
The Joker (Batman’s nemesis) loves mountain biking carnage. I’m not surprised.
  • 1 0
This laughing bag made me laugh lol
  • 13 0
 these get worse each week
  • 9 0
@Lukefuelex I think you mean better... crashes so good they hurt watching...
  • 8 0
I counted at least four broken frames. And that guy who blew out his front on the big DH flow trail is lucky he didn't get it worse.
  • 6 0
Heavy on the Lord today, if only people continued to talk after their Oh Gods!

Maybe:

oh God! call 911
oh God! I can't beleive I ride with this idiot
oh God! I filmed in vertical mode the PB comments section is going to roast me
oh God, If there was a God he of helped prevent this brutal crash.
oh God, Electric or barbed

Another themed Friday fails to add to the wish list

Oh god! to go with Oh shit, holy shit, the painful groan, the gasping for air, you ok bro, you ok dude, the less common holy christ. Not to mention the crash type themes we all want....

I can't wait for the first Big S push bike crash video, kid crying, dad crying, mom yelling at dad as she runs to kid, dad running to crab bike after mom leaves with kid...dad sleeping in basement for next month...It will be a classic. No kids will be harmed in the making of the video and genders roles are how it would go down at my house, yours may differ.

This reminds me of my worst crash. A big gap? Nope. A steep rocky rooty double black? Nope. A slippery wood bridge that felt like hitting ice a high speed? Yup. I hate wood features...
  • 1 0
@OldScratchJohnson woodwork is the best way to keep you in check. I love wood features. We have a couple bridges over 400’ full of twists and turns.
  • 6 0
"Northshore is really good in case one day you are out riding and get attacked by a ladder." Jared Rando
  • 7 0
In the outro, did he wreck into barbed wire? Ouch.
  • 4 0
that's what I thought too. brutal.
  • 8 0
Looked like an electric fence to me. Getting yourself and bike out of one of those is pure comedy in itself.
  • 2 0
 @getonyourbike: I think I heard the zap
  • 2 0
@mtbikeaddict: Me too. Someone took me out into an electric fence whilst racing the Megavalanche before. Feel for the guy.
  • 8 2
2:31 – Federal Dentist Association. Or as we called it back in the day, a Yeti Tribe
  • 7 0
Lento Lento Lento Lento...not that Lento...
  • 5 0
Can we get subtitles on the friday fails? This way I can learn to say "Oh $%*t!" and "You good?" in every language.

One to grow on
  • 1 0
After the brutality that was last week, this week's FF seems to have a lot more comedy, plus a few decent bails/saves thrown in. Oh, and lets not forget the ongoing maniacal laughter at 3:45, or asking is someone is "good" before they've even stopped crashing!

A bit of a reprieve from pain, which I for one appreciate!
  • 2 0
Oh man.... definitely need to turn the volume up a little on this one. The sounds of pain were fantastic! And that "Heisman Block" of the incoming bike at 2:33 was legit.
  • 2 0
Was the crash at 3:02 from whitefish by chance. Is so ive almost done that a few times there. The lip if you hit it straight on sends you right into a ditch if you’re going Mach chicken.
  • 5 0
That wheel destruction at 3:24 was something else!
  • 2 0
I had to replay that over and over. Thought the dude lost his duct taped to the frame water bottle. Nahhh he was just running like a quart of Stan’s in the front. No wonder he went down nose first!
  • 3 0
So many people that shouldn’t be riding fort hill do. It’s crazy no has really gotten very hurt (that I’ve seen) yet
  • 4 0
3:38, who invited the Joker to ride?
  • 1 0
 came here to say that!
  • 1 0
Oher than people not knowing how to ride their bikes, especially ones with full face helmets riding XC trails, Youtube is starting be be a FAIL with covering the last bits with annoying blotches of video links.
  • 3 0
I am so very disappointed that the @mikelevy digger from field test didn't get included in this week's FF.
  • 2 0
quite a few cringe-worthy ones... would be funny, if I could do it better =)
  • 3 0
is that the singletracksampler at 3:38?
  • 6 0
I don't know, but he definitely took a soil sample.
  • 6 0
Does he usually laugh like a maniac at not very funny stuff?
  • 3 0
 @msalcher: I found that laugh slap-worthy.
  • 3 0
The second to last one made me cringe...that had to hurt.
  • 3 0
 "hey go pro, start recording!"
.
.
.
.
"hey go pro, i crashed."
  • 1 0
0:37 - thought for sure that was going to be ugly, nice save, that's why we like 'em long and slack
  • 2 0
Another reason the grim donut is the mountain bike of the future .
  • 1 0
Kid- I almost did a sweet manual on that landing. Dad- Keep practicing Billy...
  • 2 1
Going off the back is my worst nightmare. Id definitely prefer going over the bars, if I had to choose one.
  • 2 0
@1:37 well that dog was definitely in the dog house after.
  • 2 0
Yep, you'll always case the Bimbo Jumps
  • 1 0
