I raced the first PMBA Enduro, 'Escape to Gisburn' back in 2013, before going on to film the series the following year. In the five years of filming the races it has gone from strength to strength. It is grass roots enduro racing at its finest, no time limit on transitions between stages, so you can ride round with your mates which creates a brilliant atmosphere.
With COVID-19 putting a halt on racing for now, it gave me time to reflect on many a weekend spent in the woods filming. Kev Duckworth and his team run the events excellently and I have missed the rain, the dust, the racers, the spectators, and the marshalls, and look forward to filming racing between the tapes as soon as we safely can.
The courses have always been a mix of man made trail centre trails, and fresh cut tracks, which help to cater for a wide variety of riders. Over the years I have managed to capture a few crashes, luckily no one was hurt in any of these.
Gisburn Forest.
Graythwaite, the tracks here are natural and technical.
New for 2019 was Llangollen, more tracks had been added for 2020 which will make for some great racing when we can finally get back there.
