After checking out all the unseen racing drone footage from Rensen FPV we just had to put it together for another edit for everyone to enjoy!! Edit by Thomas Sandell—Sam Reynolds
For open areas it would work great but the FPV signal sucks between trees or if ground gets in the way.
I can see riders being followed by an FPV drone in the whole upper session of Fort William, but as soon as they get in the woods...nope.
@tobiusmaximum: I know that some AI (see Skydio 2) drones can follow ppl through some tight stuff and at speed. Maybe that could work, but the risk of the thing crashing and hitting the rider or some spectator is too big.

Before playing the video, I wanted to see the comments first because last time I watched a mtbiker being followed by a drone video, I almost vomit coz it was so dizzying. This is the complete opposite. It was satisfying. That last trick by Bienvenido, insane! And that one handed landing by brendan, so smooth.
Bienve Aguado posted a great video of his participation in Darkfest and he mentioned that for the 30 meters gap they reach around 70-75 km/h: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMda3fTfpbU
As cool of a concept the drone is, and at times it's unreal footage, there's something off about most of the footage for me. I just find that many of the angles are too high and the speed of the camera in relation to the rider is so hit/miss that it makes the jumps look smaller than they are and the riders at times slower. Maybe I'm just too used to old standards like cable cams and fixed camera locations???
Problem with a drone is you want to keep your distance, due it literally being a flying blender, we touch someone with a blade and its like hitting a hotdog with a knife.
I can understand where your coming from vs cable cars, but the shots are so much more dynamic, cablecars ect are very static.
@imsundee: Also, the drone pilot is basic hitting the brakes most of the time. Even to follow rally cross is hard because the drones are so much faster then the cars.
