Trust Performance has announced that all operations are being suspended, effective immediately, due to a lack of capital brought on in part by the economic situation caused by the coronavirus.
Trust Performance made their entrance into the mountain bike world in 2018 with the launch of
the Message, a linkage fork that turned heads and sent commenters scurrying to their keyboards the moment it was revealed. The concept of a linkage fork wasn't new, but the Message's full carbon construction and wild looks set Trust apart from the crowd. There was also the fact that the company was founded by Dave Weagle, Jason Schiers, and Hap Seliga, industry veterans with decades of experience in developing and bringing innovative products to market.
The longer travel
Shout fork was the follow up act, which launched in the fall of 2019. Trust finished off the year on a high note, and looked to be on track to continue the growth into 2020. Unfortunately, supply delays caused by shutdowns in China combined with a reduced demand due to an economic downturn created what Trust say was “a perfect storm” that led to the decision to cease operations. Current Trust owners will still be able to get their forks serviced by Suspension Syndicate in Salt Lake City, Utah, but otherwise this signals the end of Trust Performance's attempt to shake up the mountain bike suspension market.
Trust Performance Public Statement:
We started Trust Performance in 2015 with a vision of building products that bring spirited outdoor athletes more fun and camaraderie. Our core focus from the outset was on reimagining and re-defining suspension technology; at first in mountain bikes with other industries thereafter. As you might imagine, our plans hinged on raising multiple rounds of capital to fuel our ambitions for incredible design, engineering, manufacturing and customer/dealer support.
2019 was a breakthrough year for Trust. We surpassed 1,000 units sold, we saw steep growth in dealer and distributor sales, and we saw four of our best-ever sales months at the end of the year. We had great momentum based on key demand metrics, brand awareness, and community enthusiasm.
But 2020 brought a number of unexpected factors, starting with the shut-down of key parts of our Asian supply chain following Chinese New Year due to coronavirus. In February, demand slowed considerably as macro fears about the economy started to rise. Then, finally, severe negativity in the investment markets shut down our ability to gain access to capital. This was at a point where we needed increased liquidity to carry us through a critical moment in our business. It all added up to a perfect storm that slammed right into us.
As a result of the overwhelming effects of the coronavirus and evaporated capital markets, it's with incredible disappointment and a heavy heart that, effective immediately, Trust Performance is taking a pause and suspending operations until we address our capital needs. We are utterly and completely gutted. We have given every waking hour over the past few months to find a path forward, but to no avail. Trust Performance, like the rest of the world, will be a different company when life is back to normal.
For those who own a Trust fork and need service going forward, please contact Suspension Syndicate in Salt Lake City, Utah. They are trained and certified as a Trust Performance authorized service center.
We're grateful for the community of people who encouraged and supported our unique design and innovative technology. In stepping away, we wish everyone health and safety. These trying times are a great reminder to make the most of the moment with those you enjoy most.
While the current crisis was undoubtedly a sledgehammer for them, and I don't have any idea of their actual sales and margins figures, I was always skeptical of their long term sustainability.
Let me quote myself from the Trust Shout review in January:
"(...)Makes me sad to say this, but I think they're doomed. Second product release in a row and they're offering something that attempts to solve issues the average user barely notices, for double the price of the competition, with no OEM deals and plenty of subpar reviews. I really wanted to see some linkage fork to succeed.
Meanwhile, one buys a Marzocchi Z1 for €500 and gets top notch performance and parts support.
I also bet RS and Fox have plenty of cards up their sleeves to keep milking the telescopic fork cow for some years, like "light" DC forks, sliding bushes or maybe damper bypasses"
"price will become reasonable once a linkage fork makes it into a OEM deal. For that to happen they need to either have a clear overall performance advantage or to become en vogue enough. Neither is true as we speak, certainly not with Thrust(...)"
f*ckin grow a pair you ignorant propaganda fed c*nt.
Thanks
You can choose to call COVID-19 that, if you agree to refer to the 1918 "Spanish" flu as the 1918 Murica flu or 1918 Kansas flu.

Me, with a Chinese wife, and Americans, with Chinese citizens, should be concerned when the careless words of leadership can be implicated in the stabbing of two Chinese children because the offender thought they were spreading the virus. No one can say that American leadership's choice to use "Chinese virus" was a factor in this incident, but it sure didn't help. And won't help as more reports of these kinds of "hate" crimes come in.
Those who spin "technicalities" ("technically it comes from China") aren't helping and are simply wilfully ignorant on how to be a better human being. "Covid-19" is more than sufficient to describe this virus, and...for @luckyguy19 ...saying things like "It's the Chinese virus because it comes from C H I N A. F*uck anyone who says otherwise.", you do a disservice to everyone, including yourself.
Also, there’s recently been some doubt about the original assumption of how Covid19 spread to Italy. It was originally thought that a Chinese tourist visiting northern Italy passed it on in December or early January, but doctors in Lombardi were reporting a strange and agressive pneumonia in November.

Heck we just had some nut job train engineer try to take out the Navy Hospital Ship.
Say what you want, but China's constant secrecy is what causes these issue and backlash. If they weren't so worried about the rep they might have realized what was happening much sooner. China really isn't doing much to help dispel the distrust that is legitimate for the country.
Good read:

Most of Western health care is fckd because we didn’t prepare for such situation even though we knew there are things out there after Sars and quite recently Mers fk ups. We don’t stockpile anything because it’s not viable financially. Same with researching Cures for diseases. It’s not like one cannot go to awet market and test These animals for Whatever they have.
Why? because people like you are stirring up hate.
Sending manufacturing jobs to China is our own fault. Now we're paying the price.
1) outsourcing would be for example somebody in China doing the exact same job as somebody in the US but for cheaper, so they’re hired. I’m not sure it would count as outsourcing if because of technological innovations a company in China was more competitive and because of these same innovations the workers were actually doing different tasks.
2) there have been some industries that have really developed in China and were, as far as I know, never in the US. Mobile phones might be an example of such an industry. Hypothetically there would be a decrease in demand for some US produced home phone. These mobile phone producing factories are jobs that were never in the US but they still managed to result in a decline of US jobs. Again just a hypothetical.
I can’t remember where I read that 80%ish figure
The Chinese government have not handled the situation well to say the least. They tried to cover it up, arrested people for trying to make it public, and are likely suppressing the numbers of infected and deaths. Disclaimer: I'm Chinese-American.
ok call it china virus. viruses are usalually referenced by where they orginated, right?
Stay well everyone.
Despite dropping the ball initially, China's response has been exceptional, as can be seen when comparing their death toll with ours.

Pretty steep increase right? that's the cost of inaction.
Now look at China's reported figures,

^^ That and they still haven't closed the wet markets!! why aren't more people concerned about that than the title of the virus.
He's calling it China virus because that's who he wants people to blame. Just shifting responsibility not burning a cross.
And china deserves alot of blame they covered it up and let it get out of hand.
But ask yourself if china had come out and said "Omg here comes this horrible virus and many many people are gonna die.
Would it have made a difference?

What rock have you been living under? If it had never made out of China, do you think we'd know much about it?
Yea China is so upstanding they were arresting people for spreading rumors that made the state look bad.
Seem like there was some truth to them now. China was force to admit something, but if you think you'll ever get the full truth from that country you're naive.

China does not have regulation or protocols in wet markets. China is like the Wild, Wild, West of markets. If you have ever traveled a lot in China, and been to the real wet markets outside of tourist bubbles you would know what I am talking about. I have traveled a lot in China.
Here is an excerpt from a microbiology medical journal that explains how more exposure to exotic animals can be very dangerous because of the lack of information on the viruses and vaccines.
"Rarely, viruses gain the ability to spread efficiently within a new host that was not previously exposed or susceptible. These transfers involve either increased exposure or the acquisition of variations that allow them to overcome barriers to infection of the new hosts. In these cases, devastating outbreaks can result."
According to this microbiology medical journal.

As for antibiotics, we might have them now but at the rate we are feeding those antibiotics to farm animals we may not be able to rely on those antibiotics to keep us healthy much longer. The more we feed them to animals the more we run the risk of antibiotic resistance in humans. Which according to this article from the same source you used .... "The practice of medicine and the state of public health would be catastrophically affected if antibiotics were not generally effective in treating bacterial illnesses"
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4638249
It was originally called the Wuhan virus before forced by China to be named something else.
I don't see what's wrong calling the Wuhan virus since the initial report and spread was from there.
MERs is essentially short for Middle East respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus. I don't see people complaining it being labelled from middle east.
And chicken pox is really an affront to chickens.
So who is buying whose propoganda here?
Chill bro.
Epidemics are usually named for the place they made the greatest impact, so given that USA is no.1 for infections, this is the Trump Flu.
No ifs or buts about it...
Hey Mensa. Where's your outrage at Ebola, MERS, West Nile Virus, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever,Omsk Hemorrhagic Fever, or Ross RIver Fever? ALL named for geographic locations-and so-named LONG before the CHINA virus earned its name
And as you said yourself, the Spanish Flu didn't even COME from Spain(it got its name because the King of Spain caught it). So why doesn't that piss you off especially? Spain got unfairly tagged with it.

Honestly, I'm all for calling it SARS-COV-2. It's logical and clear. However, I don't believe it to be racist, nor worth throwing a fit over, when somebody calls it the Chinese flu.
Or in an alternative universe: Nobody opresses Chinese people more than their own government! Wait... this is the same universe sorry: in alternative universe US Police creates Chinese style quarantine and barricades inside their homes only the members of LGBT movement!
Equality! Equality! Equality!
You can probably blame it to UK whose invented capitalism, trade mondialisation and modern (refined) drugs in the XVIII-XIX centuries.
Then, finally, to human nature.
However, what can be said is that we all know what equality seeking Communists have done in many parts of the world. The far left that consistently criticize Capitalism fails to present any solution, they only comment and criticize. Which has very little productivity and we can be all sure after even short thoughtful consideration that they have zero plan for a completely different system. Even if they had such idea, implementing it would take years, everything requires organic trial and error, shortly: unrealistic! If we looked at it from principle of evolution, we can assume that marxists who are the second biggest idealistic movement that ever happened on this earth - failed because it was worse on every single level - nobody in those societies experienced a higher quality of life than even just post WW2 societies considered as Capitalistic.
@hamncheez Capitalism VS Socialism debate is ridiculous on both sides. I think Milton Friedman would have a rather hard hick up these days seeing how states are outbidding themselves for access to medical equipment which is fully in line with his idealistic view of Free Market. I am not saying Left is wrong, it is necessary for making small adjustment in the "system" (if it can even be called this way) to improve it, but many of them have to get back to Earth and stop talking of alternatives they haven't ever tested and cannot even specify. Same goes for those who think they stand on the right as I demonstrated above. We in the west do not need to go further to the right. Other countries need to.
As many smart people have put it: ideologies are dreams of the better world, than when followed piece by piece go too far and become nightmares.
I've been to a bunch of third world countries, USA wasn't the worst one, but it was far from the best.
The US and UK population do get to elect their leaders. Unfortunately a high percentage of them are racist morons who voted for racist criminal f*ckwits to lead them, so we're all flying by the seat of our pants now.
I don't like people saying "eating animals we shouldn't eat". It's an ignorant thing to say. The problem with the eating of diseased bats is the diseased part, not the bats part. People around the world eat different animals. It's not for us to say what animals are right and wrong. Hindus think eating cows is wrong, a lot of Japanese won't eat pork because they think it makes you smell. Muslims won't eat pork. We won't eat goats. Some people think eating any meat is wrong.
We should not pass judgement on the eating habits of others. I would eat a bat, as long as it was killed and cooked in a hygienic way.
But seriously, the only reason Trump is calling it the Chinese virus is to place some of the blame on China for our current situation, instead of his delayed and disorganized response.
He calls himself a "war time president"
Well, we need a Winston Churchill...we got Benny Hill.
If your neighbour starts shitting in your water supply it won't be his fault if you get sick then?
“delayed response” Is that referring to his so called racist travel ban in December?
“disorganized response” Is that referring to the full reaction and power of the military medical sector to help the US? Giant medical ships in NY/LA.
I guess I’m glad for his “delayed/disorganized” response, I must be stupid...
My call? Cut off China, all Chinese funds in the US, all travel from China and use our military brute force to put China's main cities on par with the other cities in China, back to mid-evil times.
Heck, firing a girl today for applying for unemployment from a company computer (while at work). I guess she was trying to see if she would make more if she stayed at home......now, there is no question. She will be staying at home. She is one of the very few people I work(ed) near who has TDS....but, she is also 23 and got her job thanks to mommy's boyfriend.
LOL Please change your handle to white privilege. You’re really getting to the root of the problems during this worldwide pandemic.
Huh....and to think I thought our agenda was to keep just the blacks in prison. Now I need to add this to my list? Sheeesh.
Oddly, every MD I work with (a few hundred) including the Korean Urologist is calling this the "KungFlu"
Also, how can you be racist "against Chinese" when most people cannot tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, etc. North East Asians.
It's the Chinese culture people consider to be a bit scuzzy, not the skin colour.
Where to begin...
The full reaction and power of the military has had what impact? The hospital ships are docked, but almost empty. The one thing the military is really good at is logistics. They have not been given the authority to direct PPEs and respirators to where they are needed.
Testing is still no where near what it needs to be.
I am sure you'll blame the media for coverage, but watch the live daily press conferences...they are contradicting each other, and not on the same page.
But don't worry - Kushner is on it, so we'll be fine...
Oddly, as a white, educated, upper-middle-class stereotypical middle aged male who drives a german car....well, I love fried chicken as well.
I work with one Opthomologist who is private practice and (Navy) reserves who went north to see PT's who may have detached retina and other ophthalmological emergency cases. He will be living on the Comfort for an unknown time period.
The ships are not to be quarantined with KungFlu, they are trying to keep KungFlu out (kinda like keeping mold spores out of a bakery). So, PT shows up with a burst appendix? They may just end up on the Comfort. Person arrives wtih low Sp02? They will not end up on the Comfort. Just as a general surgeon does not know day to day what it is they are going to be doing, nor does the team on the Comfort. The only thing we do know is that they will not be treating KungFlu onboard.
Racists make the same argument here about Mexico, "You can be racist against a country". Then proceed to call everyone from Latin American descent dirty Mexicans.
I understand the issue with sanitation in China, but if you read the articles from right leaning media, who are the only one's referring to it as the Wuhan, or China virus, it's clear their using it to sew dissension.
In December, remember? When the President did his RACIST travel ban ahead of everybody. You forgot to begin there
Now, being that hospitals in NYC are getting slammed with COVID-19 cases, does having patients go through them first make any sense? 1. they take up bandwidth, 2. they can get exposed to the virus.
Am i missing something?
NYC is no different, just a higher population base (thus higher numbers). This truly is becoming more akin to John Stossel check hotel remote controls for feces. Sure, he is going to find it. The same is true for KungFlu, just only the symptomatic people are ending up in CCU (and most are secondary to other lifestyle factors, smoking, etc).
Just as every loaf of bread has mold sports, every human every day carries thousands of "potentially fatal" bacteria, viruses, cell damage (precancer) and on and on. This does not mean they will kill me, or you, or them.
And, yes, it makes sense for a PT to triage at the ED first. Easily (thanks to Obummer), 90%+ of the traffic at any ED or Emergent Care facility in the US could have, and should have been handled by a PCP.

I am not saying we should call it Chinese flu. But some people do, because it hits close enough to home. And these people cannot get even near to hurt Chinese people as much as their government can do to them. Racism and xenophobia should be fought, but this is not the way to do it mate. I would love to see SJWs stand up to few morons on the street calling someone Chinese disease that should get back to their country.
Did I get it right?
- There's strong evidence to suggest COVID-19 originated in the wet markets of Wuhan. The Chinese government were well aware of the threat such markets posed, but did nothing to prevent another pandemic. We can blame the Chinese government for allowing bad livestock/food hygiene to create a pandemic virus.
- this does make racism against Chinese people any less abhorrent. If you are a racist, you're an a*shole.
- there are unfortunately a lot of racists out there who will take any opportunity to attack others, and a lot of people who are just morons.
I'm glad you've got everything figured out though, thanks for keeping me right on when I should and shouldn't express an opinion.
Racism | Definition of Racism by Merriam-Webster
[Search domain www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism] www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism
Racism definition is - a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.
For instance ( as I referred to prior). I work with a woman who is a Primary Care MD. She was born in Africa, she went to college in Africa and then was accepted to Medical School in the United States. She then had a fight over the fact that she IS "African", and then married her husband (who is an American Citizen) and also became a citizen of the United States, so....you guessed it, she is African American. She happens to be FAR more African American than the blacks who get college funds. But, alas she is caucasian. So, I guess she is racist as well for applying for a college fund that she had no idea was based on color (race?) - not nationality..
What is shameful, every black MD I know detests the fact that most patients assume they are only MD;'s based on their skin color, not their abilities - in each case, their abilities are unquestionable. It is the Indian and Saudi MD's I worry about.....
And that (in my opinion) is a problem with society at the moment. I think in the vast majority of cases, the term racist is misused and the term culturalist would be more apt.
You'd have to be a real dumb f*ck to think race has any bearing on behaviour. It's culture that makes people behave the way they do, not race. Most of the time it's the media just trying to get clicks. "White people are racist, dogs are racist, chimps are racist, water is racist!"
@shaun have you got any stats that show the spike in racially motivated crimes as a result of trump calling it the Chinese virus? How many people has he turned into racists according to the verified stats? I would have thought any racists were already racist myself, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise.
Just pointing that out Chase, I've got nothing against you.
Make no mistake, this is a Lab created targeted virus. How it got out is speculation until proven. Everything you hear on the lying media coverage is cover.
Took test, Dr gave him Hydroxychloroquine/ Z pac combo. Healed immediately. No symptoms in 4 days time. That's the big question. Why is media and CDC suppressing the obvious cure that exists?
Oh-oh! Oh-oh!, Oh-oooh! Oh-oooooooh! Oh-oooooh-aaaah!
Why are you so mad? When you could be glad!
Is there any way to turn this shit show of a comment board off?
@chasejj does have great points BTW
oh, and #lookslikeasession
You are entirely disregarding that not everyone is as barbaric as English colonists. When the first European Americans settled in North America, it was the indigenous people who taught them how to plant crops and survive.
In either case, both were the right thing to do militarily.
And those crops fed people who then had kids and they had kids. One day those offspring started thinking outside of the box and created and ugly yet effective suspension fork. Due to various reason the suspension fork company decided to close. The end.
Thank you to the original Native Americans that made this suspension fork company happen. No I will continue to bitch about my fox and rockshox forks.
I need to give props to woke retards who apparently are out there riding with me , the ultimate Conservative Trump family guy.

I think I already posted. At a clinic we had staff checking to see if they went on unemployment due to Corona would they make more or less money. Well, now it does not matter, they do not have a choice. It is great to be a decision-maker, is it not? Now, they are on unemployment and can not use the facility as a reference for future employment. Oddly, all were under 24 and none were certified as anything more than a PITA as opposed to even an MA or CNA. Where this correlates? On her way out one said that all clinics would be government run soon enough when they get rid of Trump.....LOL. Sure, sure sure.

Laowhy86's video is a summary of Botao Xiao's (Chinese professor) published report of theory of the origin of the coronavirus and is not the YouTuber (Laowhy86) own theory of coronavirus. The YouTuber (Laowhy86) just supports it with some of his own data. However, Laowhy86's data is very valid, does have correlation with the theory, and does backup the theory. Still everything is speculation and no theory has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, so pick your theory. However to me, with all the data, the most logical theory is that the coronavirus absolutely originated in Wuhan.
National Review also summarized Laowhy86's video and posted links to Botao Xiao published report.

Also, even your guy Nathan Rich's theory on the origin of the coronavirus backs up Botao Xiao's (Chinese professor) theory that the virus started in Wuhan. In his video, he brings up the theory of whether the coronavirus could have started in the US, but later he even says that his assessment of the information (closure of US labs, vaping, and flu reports) has conflicts, not factual, and feels that the coronavirus started in Wuhan.

We should only be blaming only ourselves for this pandemic. We had all the knowledge and technology available to contain it within our countries, just like China did. But we elected politicians more concerned with economy and wealth than environment and health. A reflection of our own greedy and materialistic values.
America elected a reality show tv con man President who initially downplayed the impact and now you are surprised America is the epicenter?
Imagine if people like @WAKIdesigns had spent as much time telling people to stay at home 2 months ago as he is now spending blaming China and justifying calling it the China virus? No, instead 2 months ago he was making jokes about environmentalists.
Meanwhile China was in the process of containing it with aggressive actions while we all watched and pretended life was still normal. You really thought your intellectually lazy sell out politicians you elected to sell you out were going to protect you?
This pandemic will change those values but not before it deservedly destroys our lazy way of based upon our lack of responsibility.
One thing I do understand, this pandemic started with filthy people in China.
The CCP definitely made it worse for everyone else by lying about its severity and covering it up. The CCP continues to mislead everyone (both inside and outside China) on matters concerning the coronavirus.
Everyone knew this was going to be bad, he was informed months ago by his own experts that this had the potential to be really bad. He ignored it because signaling that it was going to be bad in any way (including mobilizing the resources he knew would be needed) would have spooked the stock market. Instead he tried to pretend it didn't exist of that it would disappear. He didn't care if some people died so long as the economy kept chugging along.
He only changed his stance the last couple weeks because the estimates from his own people started to become impossible to ignore. And not because he actually gives a shit about people getting sick or dying, but because he finally realized that having half the country get sick, while having our health care system collapse would have a far worse effect on our economy that a temporary shut down. Unfortunately like you said, we are paying a huge price for those 2 months of delays.
Mortality is a bitch, no?
But, if and when the shit really hits the fan. Thank god for the 2nd and the very solid understanding of the Constitution and STAND YOUR GROUND in FL. We could damn near have a for real reenactment of the Civil war if we wanted....where in in Shitties such as Chicago, NYC, Detroit only the criminals have the ability to protect themselves (and take all of your supplies, again, if push came to shove). If nothing more, this will certainly cull the weak from the herd. Works for deer....now, we shall see if it works for human waste and genetically inferior as well.
You probably have trouble with that fact that a black man was 10x the president the Buffoon in the oval office is now. There is no way we’d be in this as bad as we are if he was in office. Instead of saying hoax and fake news, he’d actually would take action.
BTW in November 2019 Trump defunded to the tune of 200 billion a program to study and track and mitigate pandemics, Two months later it happened.
It’s in the Washington Post if you care to get some real information
He will most likely go down in history as one of the worst presidents ever.
Really nice guy, I'd love it if he was my next door neighbour. I bet he's really interesting at barbecues.
Total soft-cock of a president though.
Thanks Obama.
I believe I did not discuss the origin of covid19 but your origin may be more interesting.
It's odd that you kept on insisting that you are a chinese or how chinese you are but you don't have a problem with calling it the Chinese Virus, Wuhan Virus, or even Kung Flu when it's overly clear that all these terms spawned racism against the chinese community.

Only thing you may be off on, it is not that you can not see "non-participating" providers. Fact is, those providers opted to not take a specific insurance program for a specific reason. In general, that reason is the financial class and/or reimbursment rate. Bet you have a hard time finding a provider who will not take "Part F".
Plan F is actually a Medicare supplement plan. It follows Medicare guidelines. If Medicare approves, the supplement pays the remaining patient liability (at the level of plan you purchase). The problem is these Medicare Advantage, or "replacement", plans, as they are HMO's acting as Medicare, but with very limited provider network guidelines, and heavily discounted fee schedules, resulting in enormous patient liabilities when we balance bill. The insurance company gets to keep profits from the premiums collected, deny coverage for the care required, and forces the facility to collect from the patient for services provided that they were not paid for. That includes expensive payment plans, placing a lien on a home, and suing for payment.
Oh, "type F" was a joke. Just as no center in their right mind takes Medicaid, no one in their right mind won't take F. As for placing a lien on a home and what not? I have zero issues with that what so ever. In reality, Dentists/Orthodontists/Periodontists have been doing it right for decades. While Maxilofacial guys can get screwed with trauma call cases, I do not fault anyone for demanding to be paid for services they render. we have seen how the Govt runs things...it is called the VA. If you look at other countries and their RVU structure, they simply will let you die if your life does not have a value that calculates high enough (so, no different from concierge healthcare at the end of the day).
There are too many people alive anyway, but at the same time I will do everything in my power to keep my family fed, safe and alive. Is it your responsibility to keep my family fed, safe and alive? Well that’s for you to decide. If society at large left my parents to catch corona and die, or if my parents needed some very expensive medication to prolong their lives and society refused to foot the bill? I wouldn’t and couldn’t hold it against anyone. It’s my family, it’s my responsibility. That is how I see it. Some are lucky, some not so. We’re already doing ok being born in rich countries and having an education. Obviously we’ve all earned enough money to buy bikes and smart phones. It could be a lot worse (and is a lot worse for the vast majority of humanity).
"You do the math."
The Chinese government needs to take responsibility for their questionable actions (cover up, arresting people for speaking out about the virus, lack of transparency) during this outbreak. Also right now, they are likely not reporting all the numbers of infected and deaths right now because they fear the repercussions it will have on their economy. It really is too little too late as the mistrust is already evident. Chinese government needs to do something to prevent these kinds of outbreaks.
Chinatowns were hit hard in the beginning mainly from Chinese that stopped going to Chinatown. Probably 95% of people that go to Chinatowns are Chinese. Chinese were also the ones who prompted the panic buying because many heard early on what was going in Wuhan and what the Chinese government was doing there and were fearful it could happen in the US and other areas. In reality, the Chinese in the US were way ahead of the curve and predicted what is going right now, well before the majority of people. Chinese are very smart and are planners.
Also, your guy Nathan Rich lives in China. He cannot say anything publicly against Chinese government without risk of getting arrested, so of course he is supporting Chinese government in all his videos. If you have ever been to China, you would know what it is like. I have been there many times. It is an amazing country with amazing people, but there are specific things you cannot do there. Number #1 rule when you are in China is never ever say anything negative about the Chinese government. Not even in idle conversation.
-Waged the biggest war on medical marijuana right after getting into office.
-Bombed an additional 3 countries to what the Bush administration was doing. So we went from 4 to 7.
-Banker bailouts of 2008
-Arming the enemy during operation “fast and furious.” Those weapons were directly linked to US soldier deaths.
These are a few of the reasons.
"Is it your responsibility to keep my family fed, safe and alive? Well that’s for you to decide. If society at large left my parents to catch corona and die, or if my parents needed some very expensive medication to prolong their lives and society refused to foot the bill? I wouldn’t and couldn’t hold it against anyone."
Yet here you are complaining that the president of another country, not even your own, isn't doing enough to keep the world safe for YOU!!!! What about the "every man for himself attitude" that you have?
@sino I didn't say it was America's responsibility to keep us all safe, but I sure did appreciate a safe world under Bush. Obama didn't have any responsibility to keep me safe, and he didn't keep me safe. Which do you think I would prefer? My entire life I have always viewed the American president as the one who keeps us all safe in foreign lands. Of course it is nice to feel safe.
FYI- My brother's Dr. who cured him with Hydroxychloroquine combo told him he and most Dr's he knew treating people were on the combo as well. The media and some politicians are lying for an specific agenda. I'll let you figure out why.
Many people Like me get symptoms and as soon as they do they stay home. Guess what, they were spreading the virus for up to three weeks. Without coughing. Then they get healthy again and they stop spreading the virus Within two days since symtoms cease.
What are we even talking about?!
Healthcare units all over the world have shortage of masks and they actually can make good use of it, they require them. It’s a matter of life and death of them and their patients. it they should use it with highest priorities not like dummies on the street who can’t even put them on properly
It is beyond obvious that wearing a mask will go some way towards helping us not catch it. I'm not saying it is a 100% effective preventative measure, and of course goggles make it better, a hazmat suit better still. But saying masks do nothing is up there as your most retarded comment yet! Have you ever seen one of those photos of someone sneezing against a black background?
...
The funny thing about politics, especially (but not limited to) libtards. When the government is from the party they dislike and it does something good... Not a murmur. Of course they did that thing. That's their job. Don't mention it. But when they do something bad, or fail to do something desirable - let them have it! It's an overriding negative feeling or negative conversation. Complain, grumble, insult. Isn't there another way? Even a middle ground where we can say we dislike the person but agree with the policy, or admit we agree with some policies if not all? Why does it have to be good against evil, all or nothing? Surely we're more intelligent than that.
www.wired.com/story/its-time-to-face-facts-america-masks-work
And the same could be said about right wing ass hats. Actually they're worse, they'll just make it up if they can't find something (Obama's an operative for the muslim brotherhood who's sole purpose is to usher in sharia law, Hillary ran a sex ring out of a pizza shop, Sandy hook massacre was a hoax). I could go on.
People face to face they are trying to limit spreading all sort of diseases not just Corona. Corona itself is not even that harmful, the bacteria it lets into your lung tissue is. They are also working in completely different levels of exposure. Of healthcare system asks you to hand over to them all you have then if you don’t you are a selfish a*shole. What a surprise one of first people I saw in mask was a dickhead in Castelli jacket and Rapha hat, and he even had his nose sticking out of it. He also had sterile gloves. Oh I know he follows a careful protocol of putting them on, he won’t touch his keys, won’t put his hands into his pockets (too bad he did as I scanned his behaviour thoroughly” and I am sure he sanitizes all surfaces in his living area. Come on... who the f*ck are you fooling people?
If you think you won’t get the virus then you have some really retarded part of your brain. Since you believe healthcare workers go to work for the money you do have some retardations. Swedish gov does what it does because it knows many will die off anyways. You kind of agree, but then you wear a mask. Do you even know what you believe in?! According to your survival of the fittest, you should go get the virus ASAP and be done with it.
You can't fake news a global pandemic.
This shit is kryptonite for the right wing.
Regarding the face masks. Even if they reduce my chances of catching the virus by 1% that's worth it in my opinion. They say that left unchecked, 80% of people will get the virus. I will do what I can to be in the 20%. Gloves, masks, goggles. I'll wear the lot when I go to the supermarket. Anything I can do to personally increase my chances I will do. You do what you think is best for you and yours, that's your prerogative. Good luck to you.
But please, don't pretend you really believe masks are pointless. Anyone with half a brain can see they do something. Quantifying exactly what they do may be a matter of contention, but it's definitely more than nothing.
The term doesn't spawn racism.
Racists are racists, it's really that simple. A normal person with normal views of the world aren't going out and becoming racists because a virus is referred to anything linked the to Chinese.
Ignorant f*cks are ignorant f*cks, you really don't think they know it started in China and would be doing the same stupid shit no matter what you call it?
I still don't have the insurance policy I was happy with after Bozo assured me I could keep it.
But I'm thankful to him, every year since I've had to pay more to keep the same coverage or drop down to a lower plan.
Adding me to my wife's plan at work was way more expensive then being on my own with our kids when she first got her new job.
Didn't take long after the savior's new plan that my wife's plan became the economical way to go.
Allow me to refresh your memory of the left making sh*t up
-Your President is a Russian puppet and stole the election... turns out after spying on the president and his entire staff, and a 2+ year investigation by Mueller, ZERO EVIDENCE. Way to go Rachel “Moscow” Maddow, biggest conspiracy theorist in the US
-Your President forced the Ukrainian president into a quid pro quo deal and needs to be impeached... President immediately releases full transcript of call, and the president of Ukraine even insisted he wasn’t pressured. That’s like saying someone robbed a bank, but you can’t find a bank that’s even claiming they were robbed. FULL ACQUITTAL
And this recommendation is not suggesting that wearing such a face covering will prevent someone from catching the disease, its to prevent the person wearing in from spreading it. If you are wearing a bandanna and sneeze into it what happens? Its gets wet and covered with mucus on the inside. Will some escape? Of course, but all the shit thats in your bandanna is now NOT floating around in the air or on some surface someone else can touch. People can't seem to grasp that the amount of virus your exposed to correlates directly to how likely you are to contract the virus. Even if its not eliminated, reducing the amount of contaminants in the air or on any surface will reduce the changes of someone contracting the virus.
As for discussion of politics I think the root of the problem is that most people don't know what they are talking about. I am happy to have a discussion with anyone, but too often people are just clueless and simply regurgitate what they see on their favorite politically slanted news program or facebook memes. I mean here in the US (and likely alot of other places) taxes are always one of the biggest issue in politics. But a huge portion of our population actually has no clue how our tax system even works. I am an accountant and I am appalled by some of the questions people ask me. People don't know the difference between payroll taxes and income taxes and where that money goes or they have no idea how progressive tax brackets work (I actually had a friend who was mad he got a raise because he thought he was going to have less take home pay because he got bumped up a tax bracket). You'd be surprised how many people don't even really understand tax withholding's and why they get money back when they file a tax return.
And people focus on the dumbest shit. Stuff that is inconsequential to in the grand scheme of things. Honestly for me, if I'm talking about politics on the federal level and the discussion is not about Climate change, our disaster of a healthcare system, our crumbling infrastructure, fixing the continually expanding wealth gap, or how we will handle the loss of jobs to automation in the next 25 years, then its not really worth discussing. Those are the over riding long term problems that need solving here. Anything else is just a distraction.

Those rights and freedoms get taken away quickly when your action put others lives at risk.
Drive a car fine. Start running people over, drive drunk etc go to jail.
Sorry the forefathers didn't account for spreading disease during a pandemic.
God has nothing to do with our rights, but if your travel removes peoples right to life, (another one of those pesky constitutional freedoms from the Bill of Rights as well as an amendment) then it is legal to restrict your right to free travel.
That must be at the bottom...
I hope you realize how wrong you are. If you’re not, PLEASE tell me how New York residents are leaving their highly infected state...
First off, that is illegal to stop them, more so based on their license plates. Plus, if they do not self quarintine there is NOTHING illegal about it.

Now that our military is back up to a decent level of capability. Our President is fully cognizant that it is not the United States' problem how many old bastards in Italy die. We finally are getting some serious border control and Trump stopped flights from China DESPITE the Dems crying fowl.
Then these same idiots want to pretend that in the US we can be forced to stay home and the police can not do a god damn thing about our NOT staying home? I guess some (Chris on his knees) may as well just stay home. He can binge-watch Hogans Hero's and maybe get deep into some Shindler's List (if he can understand the premise).
Until there is martial law, I and other citizens can and SHOULD travel as we desire. If and once there is Martial Law, well, at least here in FL we are able to protect ourselves from a Tyrannical Government as the United States Constitution has given us the right.
In summary, Shokin was corrupt, was incline to taking bribes, and was dismissed with overwhelming support of Ukraine's parliament. The difference, Trump was seeking personal gain. Joe was getting rid of a criminal.

Burisma Holdings was not under scrutiny at the time Joe Biden called for Shokin's ouster, according to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, an independent agency set up in 2014 that has worked closely with the FBI.
Shokin's office had investigated Burisma, but the probe focused on a period before Hunter Biden joined the company, according to the anti-corruption bureau.

I was in Africa during an election. You HAD to go in person. Some folks would walk for hours and hours to vote, that is the pride they took to vote - IN PERSON. They then had ink on their finger that proved they got their ONE VOTE.
Dems hate the idea of only one vote, only elligible people voting and then a real count of the vote.
Funny you say that. The last election fraud that was prosecuted here in NH was a Mass Trump voter voting both at home, and in NH where he owned a summer home. So much for the "illegals" narrative.
I have a nephew (inlaw) who is VERY Downs. He is 35 some odd years old, but 8. His mother took him to vote and he had an "I voted" sticker...I found that offensive. While I am certain that he voted in the way his mother told him, and along the parties I agree with, he simply was not an educated voter and should not be a valid vote. I guess that makes me a jerk.
Then again, I think that there should be minimum income or property ownership required to vote. Simply, too many ignorant welfare babies who never, not in their lives (or their baby momma's life) produced a damn thing other than more babies (who never will know who the father is if not for Maury Povich) and sucking the teets of the government nipple.
With the chorine, we need to put salt peter in the water in the projects and lower-income areas.

- Ethiopia is something like 35% agricultural land
- What in the world does a famine in Ethiopia 35 years ago, caused by droughts and border skirmishes, have to do with voting in the US today(or bike forks)
Lastly everyone one this thread please just stop. No one will convince anyone of anything.
We live in a world where people inexplicably get to choose their own facts, no matter how untrue they are. There have been big companies, that have successfully lobbied to insure that the waters are muddied on the fact front and now we are living with those decisions. So please save your time by stopping commenting here, or other places where people like to yip at one another, and instead maybe talk with your government representatives to change how information is presented.
Please explain to me how Ethiopia years ago is any different from the South Chicago and many other cities in the US Subsidized housing? Other than they had a natural cause other than multi-generational laziness and a victim mentality. Those people simply should not be allowed to vote as they do nothing but suck from the system and live off of the efforts of others. I am sure you will say they too did not have a choice but to be born there....thus, we need mandated birth control, saltpeter in the water (and NOT late-term abortion as they so love to pontificate about).
It is easy to take an armchair view on these people You go to work in a facility who has to deal with these people I give you 30 days or less....you too will say just as I do. Simply, they prove every stereotype as being validated. What is stunning is the sheer number who would say "I voted Barack mother f*cker, I aints gots ta pay shit". One genration, maybe. Two? Pathetic, we are five and six generations deep and only getting deeper. It is one of the MANY reasons that major cities have such "white flight" and professionals of all job descritions leaving the area(s).
"explain to me how Ethiopia years ago is any different from the South Chicago"
- Geography
- No recent wars in South Chicago
- No droughts causing crop failures and food shortages in South Chicago
Surprised you weren't aware of those differences.
Trying to demonize housing subsidies won't work with me. There are many times that those subsidies are what get a person through tough times so that they get to be a contributing member of society again. Sometimes subsidies are abused, but I'm more worried about huge subsidies for companies that have never and never will, turn a profit, than I am worried about someone getting half their rent paid for.
We agree on Corp. In my world there is no such thing as "too big to fail". But, I also have no beef with firing a few hundred thousand UAW workers, killing the unions and starting over in Right to Work states. Plus you only solidified my argument that all the "Projects" and Govt housing needs to stop. Far too many generations deep for no good reason.
" does the prison system count as Subsidized housing?"
-No
"In my world there is no such thing as "too big to fail"."
-In the real world though there is.
"But, I also have no beef with firing a few hundred thousand UAW workers, killing the unions"
-No "But" needed, as it is essentially the same statement as the one that proceeded it
"you only solidified my argument that all the "Projects" and Govt housing needs to stop."
- Don't know why or how. Government housing and subsidies help many people that go on to do a lot of good. My sister for instance, who lived in section 9 housing for a few years after being massively injured and is now a public defender,(and land owner, so could vote in your world).
Besides, we gave the fossil fuel industry 20 billion in subsidies last year(a good chunk of that to oil shale companies that have never and will never turn a profit) while we spent about 4 billion on housing subsidies. That 4 billion is barely larger than the 3 billion we spent on federal employees vacation pay while they were on administrative leave. Let's not worry about the little stuff before we have taken care of the big stuff.
I will now heed my own advice and stop trying to change the position of an immovable object.
Oddly, believe it or not I was homeless for a few years after my racing career ended. We all have our burdens to bear. It is simply taking it upon ourselves to succeed, not blame the rest of society because it just is not fair. Long ago the handups became hand outs and then became lifestyles.

Where is all the fake money going to come from to fix this?
At what point does the dollar lose legitimacy because it is backed by nothing but phony debt? Eventually it will, you can't rob a fake bank forever.
The other irony for Trump is that his only accomplishment he can point to, the economy, has been COMPLETELY DESTROYED and all hood stock market gains are UP IN SMOKE! Dow goes down, Trump's pants turn brown.
This is exactly what voters deserve when they prioritize economy and wealth over environment and health.
We get the depression that we deserve because we didn't take it seriously like China did.
Thanks for coming on here to push Chinese propaganda, anybody with an IQ in the triple digits is laughing at you. If you think the economy was our Presidents only accomplishment, you’re only proving you live in a serious echo chamber. November will be here soon, but when Trump wins, you can just blame it on Russia! LOL
It's crazy to me that we clearly saw what was happening in China and did nothing to effectively prepare ourselves, and yet China contained it even though it started there.

Because all of it doesnt change the fact that Chinese People in China, ruled by Chinese government, eat untested animals carrying various diseases transmiting to humans - hence it makes sense that some people like to call it Chinese flu.

Why not on a personal level?
We both agree that China did a good job at containing the virus, correct?
We both obviously agree that America has completely failed at containing the virus and protecting it's population, correct?
China contained it and yet you still act like they did something bad when in fact they set a successful example for us to follow, and they were warning the rest of the world of the severity of the virus, which Trump and his influential FOX news puppets mostly ignored:

All the China flight ban did is delay the onslaught on the American population the by a week or two. They absolutely and completely failed at EVERYTHING else, especially in testing and leadership. Trump and his flunkies calling it a Democrat hoax when they should have been trying to scare the hell out of everybody.
What Chins did to its population was harsh, but the health and economic fallout in America will be much less desirable. In terms of its "personal" effect on you, in the long run you will wish the rest of the world had followed China's example.
This will be a costly lesson in the dangers of electing politicians who prioritize personal wealth and economy over health and the environment. One of the most pathetic lies is when Trump says nobody could have ever imagined this.

WOW. As a man, I can’t honestly say I’ve ever been offended, but this comment got close. I sure hope none of your family/friends have fought, or God forbid died, for the many freedoms you’re so willing to give up. If so, they’re rolling in their graves.
youtu.be/UWruWCq6GCI
Had they been successful and started the coronavirus or something like it would you then be be ok with calling it the American virus?
Would you be just as enthusiastic about calling it the American flu and spend half your day on pinkbike trying to justify calling it that?
If you believe that, I could see how you could also think the government getting involved would solve the issue...LOL
This is a war that America has lost on every front, the health and especially economic losses will likely exceed that of any traditional war America has actually fought in. Including the wars/ occupations we lost in Iraq and Afghanistan that cost us over $3,000,000,000,000 and only made us less safe. So we have Bush's disaster and now Trump's, and all 4 American depression/ recessions happened under Republican presidents who prioritized the economy over health. Pretty ironic, just goes to show that you get what you vote for.
What again was the quote? Oh, yeah...."the great social and economic experiment, noble in motive and far reaching in purpose."
It worked about as well as the war on drugs (Bless Nancy's heart). The ONLY thing the war on drugs did was build tons of prisons (pretty sure they are an industry "too big to fail").
China is not a place to be during the lockdown. People were not allowed to leave their homes nearly two months and Chinese government was the only one providing allotted food for those in lockdown.
I posted these earlier, but they are eye opening on China lockdown.

Wrong. Don’t listen to me, listen to John Hopkins University:
2-27-2020 “The US scored 83.5 and ranked No. 1 in five of six categories: prevention, early detection and prevention, rapid response and mitigation, sufficient and robust health system, and compliance with international norms.”
Good enough source for you a**hole? You should be ashamed for praising the what the murderous tyrannical Chinese government does to the great Chinese people. GFY
Also, notice the health care access score

What part of "complete failure at every level" does your jarhead not understand?
theintercept.com/2020/03/18/coronavirus-china-world-power
"Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters he had sent a letter to his “brother and friend” Xi Jinping, the Chinese president, asking for medical aid, stating that “the only country that can help us is China. For the rest of them, thanks for nothing.” The first test kits from China landed in Belgrade late Monday night."
China has actually been kicking ass helping other counties during the pandemic, and they are creating new alliances around the world.
People in China are also riding bikes more than ever, check it out pretty cool...

China is fully committed to continue to help the world deal with the pandemic, and I am thankful for the efforts and wish my own country could provide this type of leadership:
global.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202004/03/WS5e866fd9a3101282172840c0.html
If we are going to play the blame game blame the massively incompetent leaders of our own country who we clearly elected to sell us out. When you vote for growing personal wealth and the economy over protecting health and the environment you get exactly what you voted for but not maybe not what you hoped for.
What we needed was early leadership to get ahead of it and scare Americans but instead we had a reality tv star clown President downplaying it and misleading people at a crucial point.
youtu.be/NAh4uS4f78o
They ignored the nsc recommendations on how to deal with it and there was no leadership or testing. Complete failure at every level and now we suffer the consequences. Federal deficit will be over $5,000,000,000,000 this year, numbers that make no sense whatsoever and indicate very bad times ahead.
Next time you speak to your handler, can you ask them to replace all the test kits they sent out that were 40% accurate please? Just remind them that 40% accuracy is less reliable than the toss of a coin.
How do you feel about the crates of supplies sent to Italy, which were paid for, but had large stickers with the word "Gift" on them?
Was that also part of the grand containment plan?
Do you think it would be appropriate for the RoW to claim damages from China for deliberate deceit, causing more damage than would have otherwise been caused? If such lawsuits were successful, do you think the CCP is likely to pay, or claim that the court has no jurisdiction in China? This is the one I'm most interested in... can you ask your handler that please, next time you speak to him?
Every time I see one of the old school "H" Hillary bumper stickers, or a current Sanders or Biden bumper sticker, I really do tend to feel bad for the person who owns the car (never have seen one on a car that costs even 20% of what my daily driver costs)...but, such a sad state of affairs to know that as a person you are not capable of achieving more without taking from other, more gifted and smarter people. The reality does correlate directly into the fact that we check potential hires for what party they are registered with and do not hire registered Democrats, I would assume adding more fuel to their theories that the patritians are holdikng them back as opposed to their own failures as functional humans.
If a gunman is shooting wildly into a crowd that I'm in, are his actions not my problem? If you're actively spreading a deadly agent, are your actions not my problem?
I don't differentiate between the two, both are liable for the death as a result of their actions.
We even had shirts made!

You also are unaware that currently over 90% of the population that "has" COVID presents not a single symptom, right? I have a mole on my arm, shall I consider it a "pre-cancerous lesion" under the same mindset that the media has taken with COVID?
From there? I could give a shit less about NY (mostly NYC as I have some very good friends upstate). I also do not blame Upstate for electing Hillary. The fact is, all damn winter the idiot snowbirds who INVADE my home tend to have NY plates, drive like f*cking retards and think they are special. Simply, no tolerance for them and I do wish for many to perish (well before they end up in The Villages).
Plus, the libs need to fear Trump dropping dead. Pence would ban abortion within 24 hours of taking office and throw the libs and Hollywood into a seizure.
Taiwan lashed out at WHO two months ago on Feb 6 and Japan did on March 29. Both countries criticism about WHO well before Trump. Australia has also been very negatively vocal about WHO's handling of the coronavirus.
On January 22, after there were confirmed cases in Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea, yet WHO declined to call the outbreak in China as public-health emergency of international concern. WHO also was against blocking global travel. After the WHO finally declared the emergency, it didn't call it a pandemic until March 12th. That is way too late when it already pretty much spread to the entire world.

@RoadStain You seem to be the one paying attention to your mainstream Fox news. I don't have television or subscribe to any particular news outlet. I do however pay attention to what is going on in the world around us through many many international news outlets and a social network of close friends and family all over the world.
Trump is the primary reason the Trump virus has has been spreading like wildfire through America.
For now on we will call it the Trump virus because he is without a doubt the biggest super spreader; Because of all the disinformation and misleading the general public about the severity of Trump virus. He has deservedly inherited this virus. Then his influential clown puppets and Fox news repeated the dishonest message which caused many more in America to be infected by the Trump virus which has decimated our economy and led to near 20% unemployment.

Trump's virus is destroying America as we speak, many of his cult followers are still going to church. Our federal deficit will be over $5,000,000,000,000 this year, when just a few years ago it was unimaginable that it would go over a trillion. Yeah, great plan to have the states tackle it by themselves with no federal help or leadership or testing or anything. Complete failure at every level and now America is the mega epicenter.
You voted for the spread of Trump's virus when you voted for politicians like Trump who prioritize personal wealth and economy over health and environment. Why can't you own that fact?
www.google.com/amp/s/www.politico.com/amp/news/magazine/2020/03/19/coronavirus-effect-economy-life-society-analysis-covid-135579
"Causation in the law is defined as conduct that is a substantial factor in bringing about the death of another and I think, undeniably Donald Trump’s conduct of lying to the American people and downplaying the risk, giving them information that they then use to make their everyday behavioral decisions that put them in harm’s way that enhanced their chances of contracting this virus. That was a substantial factor in infecting and ultimately killing people.
So, and let me talk a little bit for a minute about how he also failed to act and how his failure to act was gross negligence. So this is one of the — and I prosecuted a lot of murder cases in my day. This is one of the unusual circumstances where a perpetrator actually fulfills both theories of liability because he acted in a grossly negligent way and he failed to act and that failure was a product of gross negligence. You only have to prove one or another. He hit the homicide bonanza. He actually committed involuntary manslaughter in both of those ways."
theintercept.com/2020/04/02/is-donald-trump-criminally-responsible-for-coronavirus-deaths
Just when I was thinking you could name possibly make a more ignorant comment.....
H1N1 had estimated 60.8 million infected in the US. Currently there is 520K COVID19 infections. Probably most didn't think H1N1 was much of a big deal because the mainstreet media was ignoring it and not making it the big issue as COVID19. There was no mainstreet media criticism of Obama's inaction during H1N1. If you control the media, you control the minds of the people.
So, I know for a fact the number is fake here, I can only assume it is fake everywhere. Then, there are things like this...
www.dailywire.com/news/viral-video-candace-owens-accuses-governor-of-lying-about-newborns-coronavirus-linked-death-calls-for-resignation
Also, if COVID was the cause of death, the comorbidity is secondary. I.E. pneumonia being the cause of death in someone with COPD.
Also, CDC states that H1N1 tests are only 10% to 70% effective to test correctly. That is extremely inaccurate.
It's a fight between saving healthcare system and saving economy. Deaths are of lesser relevance. As I wrote above, there's way more at stake than 2-3% mortality rate or whatever it is. "Stay home" is not a way out. Nothing is. Governments which took house arrest measures, like Italy should resign. Italy is the biggest f*ck up so far, they just keep making it worse and worse. Let's see if US can beat it.
Life in the atmosphere is like sea of deadly challenges to life. Some, simply wont make it.
More f*cking rubber gloves in parking lots, gas stations, on the trails... I guess idiots think they melt like cigarette butts.
I jsut saw on the news in MI they are taking down 1000 hospital beds....none were used. There is little to no question, trying to avoid anything was not the key here. By the time it was attempted it was far too late for that (many thanks to WHO for mis-informatinon).
Who said that?
Watch this documentary just released

They were dumbasses at that Lab
No different in reality than DUI laws in the US. No one can prove that one single life has been saved with .08, or MADD delusions. They can infer some were, they can theorize some were...But, in reality, we can quantify tens of thousands of lives altered in a massive way due to the effort. The only thing we can prove is that the DUI laws are a cash grab for many municipalities (another overbearing attempt of the Government to control our collective behaviors).
Working where I do, we see a number of DUI incidents. Most DUI currently are not alcohol. The ones that are? They are not .08, not even .1. Heck, that is a normal level for a good old fashioned alcoholic. In general the car accidents (with injury) the altered driver will be in the .2xx+ range...or, they were running from the cops where we get a chicken or egg scenario.
So, under your premise, we can say that every time I drive I am only alive thanks to the efforts of MADD, plus the only reason none of these beds were needed was a self-quarantine?
(no, I have never been charged with DUI and I do not drink).
This will be clueless liberals favorite uninformed argument when everyone talks about the overreaction.
Just trying to get a gauge on how many people are going to lay the blame at the feet of the CCP when all this is over.
I do worry that I’m three years’ time, all out governments will be saying we need Chinese investment to prop up our covid-ravaged economies.
So Yeah We will be blowing China big time. That loose stool Trump will accuse them of virus spreading on one day, he’ll warn them that he will perform a blockade of their ports with NucULAR carriers, and then the day after he’ll call them friends and will pump millions in bio research to help them detect diseases earlier, so that when poor Chinese eat rats and dogs, they will be isolated quicker. Trump will suck Xi Dong and Boris will eat Anusan while Germany and France will be sucking tittxis.

Seriously, however, when it comes to the national interests of the US, I simply do not care what the collateral damage is on another continent. For hundreds of years, we have managed to keep the wars "over there" with some small exceptions, Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and others. Every time I hear about someone in the EU finding undetonated German munitions from the 1940's I count my blessings even more....and hope we are building more capacity to fight any future conflicts "over there" as opposed to in Colorado or Idaho (top two sites on every nuke strike list from "them"). If (and when) this is proven to be militarized by the Chinese, we have to srike the facilities that created it and the Governments who tried to hide it.
The last time I did something that pointless was when I completed Excel and wrote my name in the final cell... I never had the balls to hit print though
The pot then responds with "Shut up, Kettle!!!!"
Listen... I was unfortunate to be able to overhear what my grandma and her friends were talking about when they had their meetings by the tea. They were talking bullshit like this about conspiracies of Russia and Germany, third world war coming, yeah, these dumb revelations sound like old crazy women. Or a preacher in church. Best part about catholicism: being able to tell bullshit from a mile. One man says something and a huge bunch of folks going “hear, hear”. Sorry, received my education in the field of being bat shit crazy
On the other hand, there is so much made up shit in the news that I don’t really know what to believe. The communist party f*cked up for sure. It could be that their major f*ck up was pretending they didn’t f*ck up. I think the world would have been understanding if they put their hands up and said “Oh shit. A virus has started here and we’re trying to stop it. It’s killed 120,000 people already and that number is rising by the minute. Watch out!”
Instead, they tried to hide the unhideable, denied the undeniable and with those two heinous actions basically f*cked the entire world’s economy and with it any thread of trust anyone still had in them.
The fact is, no one likes the way they do business but most countries were willing to turn a blind eye because $$$. Now that $$$ has gone, let’s see what happens to the relationship between China and everyone else. Money talks and will continue to talk. I guess we are going to find out how deep the pockets of the CCP really are.
1. there’s far more motive for everyone around China to blame China for anything, than there was motive for China to spread such virus. Think of motives.
2. If you do basic reading on biological warfare you will quickly find that from military point of view biological weapons are highly unreliable and extremely hard to control, hence ineffective. It’s basic logic. Very simply: it takes lots of effort to develop and spread the virus while you don’t know whether it will spread in strategically sound manner (how will you test it? Will you expose large dose of prisoner population? How will you cover up a mass murder operation?, how will you avoid spreading it outside of your experiment in an uncontrolled manner?, how will you hide such operation against enemy’s intelligence?) ok, so now you have a deadly virus: how will you avoid situation when your own population gets affected? How will you avoid retaliation? Let’s go further: your enemies, India included have Nukes - so you spread a virus, they rather wuickly figure out where it came from. Before Indias or US population gets totally infected, even at the 15x rate that measels have: you’re nuked! 500 times over! Bang! Bang! bang! Kaboom!
There is a reason why biological weapons are not used. They are highly ineffective and unreliable. A bunch of T80 tanks dropped from Antonow air freighters will do far more damage than the worst virus conceivable. And China has plenty of very effective weapons. Chemicla weapons are often mentioned as more effective thna bio, yet, nobody really uses them! Because they too are ineffective. They are great if you are a mass murdering ahole from third world country, not a leader of a super power.
3. All those nations have access to far more deadly viruses: MERS, SARS, Ebola, what not, and China is working on a common cold on steroids virus to gain world population? What in the fk.
4. Bio weapons lab in a center of a big town?! Really?! f*cking really?! Sociopathic Super villain theory?
Sorry, it makes zero sense, especially considering properties of the virus. Especially considering where it comes from, how simple explanation the wet market origin is. The line between inconvenient truth and improbable bullshit can be very thin indeed... as to motives, whackos seeking attention, yeah, they are out there.
Whether the virus was used as a bio-weapon is conspiracy theory, but doesn't mean it is untrue. It is a possible theory. I tend to believe it was a bad accident if it came from the Wuhan Lab.
Perhaps you should watch @SirWonky's link to the video. Here is the link. @21:40 in the video below it talks about the how they engineered a chimeric virus.
youtu.be/Le_rfTdayLs
For more confirmation that they engineered a chimeric virus, here is also the link to the actual medical journal by Shi Zhengli that documents the creation of the chimeric virus and the caption that documents this.
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4797993
"Therefore, to examine the emergence potential (that is, the potential to infect humans) of circulating bat CoVs, we built a chimeric virus encoding a novel, zoonotic CoV spike protein—from the RsSHC014-CoV sequence that was isolated from Chinese horseshoe bats1—in the context of the SARS-CoV mouse-adapted backbone. The hybrid virus allowed us to evaluate the ability of the novel spike protein to cause disease independently of other necessary adaptive mutations in its natural backbone. Using this approach, we characterized CoV infection mediated by the SHC014 spike protein in primary human airway cells and in vivo, and tested the efficacy of available immune therapeutics against SHC014-CoV. Together, the strategy translates metagenomics data to help predict and prepare for future emergent viruses."
Why they were doing such research is really open to debate. But-It was a level 4 biosafety lab- so they should have been practically wearing nasa space suits, all day, every day. It is easier for me to believe somebody just plain old “dumbass’d out” and left the room with an experimental virus stuck covering their clothes or shoes .......than to believe some fool was buying some live bats to make some “Bat McNuggets” that he bought at the fish market.
They f*cked up BAD at that lab and opened up a Pandoras Box nobody can close now.
In the first few days after news got out, they allowed Chinese scientists in, who did not find any bats, and then the whole thing was closed off and sterilised before anyone from any international scientific body could go and take samples.
Another one I read claimed that the seafood market was a seasonal market and it opened in early December, when in fact there were known cases of “sars like flu, Wuhan pneumonia” in November.
That bar story is just an easy and believable possible explanation.
I’m kind of more of the opinion now that what you say, SirWonky. It was a manufactured virus, maybe not a weapon but certainly not an accident, and it got out somehow, by accident. Basically that lab was researching coronaviruses and somehow it was compromised. One got out. It’s better for the CCP’s saving of face to say it came from a wet market but there is no proof, than saying it was from a state controlled lab. Save face. Keep the party in power. Always blame someone else.
So yeah I agree it was probably not a weapon as such, but I do think it was probably an accident that was covered up.
And anyone who thinks it can’t be a weapon because the CCP wouldn’t want to infect their own people, since when did a few (million) dead Chinese ever matter to the Chinese Communist Party?
Also, the name COVID19 was named International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses and WHO. They recently designated a name because it hasn't been seen by world experts. The Wuhan Lab still could have engineered it and named it something different.
ICTV named it SARS-CoV-2 (Feb 2) WHO named it COVID-19 (Feb 11).

It's not a coincidence.
Ever been to, or study Egypt of Mayans. It does not seem so far fetched. No one knows it is true, no one knows it is not truly a galactic thing. I am out, time to binge drink and watch Stargate.
I do believe it’s highly likely that 5G is even more unhealthy than 4G though. It can’t be good having all this radiation flying around all the time, going through our bodies. Non-ionising or not, it can’t be good.
I predict we will all die of cancer from mobile phones, and a lot of our sons will grow up infertile because they’ve grown up with a mobile phone in their pocket, right next to their nuts for 20 years.
I do feel a bit sorry for him though. I believe in the universal principle of a fair go. Credit where credit is due, and criticism where criticism is due.
The media have made their own bed with Trump in my opinion. By relentlessly talking shit about him every day about everything, and staunchly refusing to concede that he has done a couple of good things, they have kind of undermined their own credibility.
I know he’s a dick, but dicks are good for some things. Just like that sketch from Team America.
Life and politics are not binary, and it confuses me that the overwhelming majority of English speakers in the world is seemingly unable to be objective about the pros and cons of Trump. Why is it impossible to say “He has done a great job on a, b, c; I don’t agree with him on f,g,h; and he’s completely f*cked it on x,y,z. Having said that, his main crime seems to be that he's a shit talking bastard, because realistically no other leader in any other country has done anything better about CV anyway - they just didn't spout a load of self promotional gibberish while they were at it. I don't like him personally, but some of his policies have merit and at least he's not more of the same - another career politician." That's kind of what I am feeling but I know I'm in a minority. Quite where this extreme hatred bandwagon has come from I don't know, but it's certainly going full steam ahead at the moment.
I guess everyone has their own beef with different people. I've heard people wish death on trump and BJ this week, you along them. I don't have such wishes myself. Xi Jinping on the other hand, I would love it if he died today. We all have our own little idiosyncrasies don't we?
I get your point though. I think every country quickly regresses to stone age thinking as soon as something happens that makes people believe they have a good chance of dying this month. America could be one of the worst ones in that respect, but I'm sure it will happen everywhere once the fear takes hold. We're just animals, when all is said and done.
Agreed about Obama. Total soft-cock. Absolutely useless president. He isn't even black. He's mixed race. He's as white as he is black. I don't get why people go on about voting for the black one, when they should have said the mixed race one, or the total soft-cock one who is a nice chap, but likes to patronise people just like any white skinned politician before or since.
One thing in life and politics I really dislike is when former politicians come out of the woodwork every time there is a contentious issue. Obama trying to convince everyone not to vote for Trump. Tony Blair (who some wood say should be in jail, not swanning off around the world making millions from giving speeches) on Brexit. There should be a rule that once they leave office, they GTFO of the public eye, media etc. You've done your bit, now f*ck off and let someone else have a go!
On the other hand, you have a Space Force - not 3W. And the Shelby Mustang is a car the 3W wishes it had.
I didn't know that was a pissing contest. Rather, I thought it was just a statement of fact.
Norwegians are much more into finesse, keeping things tidy. Danish are also more into owning nice design everything. Swedish expensive villas cost gazillions and their architectural value as well as construction qualityare shit. I've been to a Villa of a rich dude, all boxes ticked off, he even had a pool. It was crappy disgusting plastic giant bath tub. But "pool" point was ticked off. The beauty is inside.
You know of course that is WHY we elected him, right? That is why the mass majority (over 90% of SMB in the US support him 100%). That is why our facilities do not hire "pro-Socialist" providers or staff. That is why I have zero tolerance for people who can not achieve on their own (without a congenital issue other than being lazy).
We had an NP try to give me a hard time for not giving a girl her job back when she begged for it (I fired her). She was using a company system to apply for unemployment to see if it would pay more than working (we have not cut any staff). I made it a simple decision, she is on unemployment. I see it no different from a staff member applying for a job at another facility on one of our systems - fired (indeed and what not are blocked).

Noticing a trend? No country is perfect, but we come close
If you ever find yourself wanting to visit the US, I live next to some of the best riding our country offers. I would happily welcome you to stay in my home. Peace brother.
Then give me better examples...and you saying the majority of the US is 3rd world REALLY screams well traveled lol.
There’s a paper mill in a neighboring town that’s been employing people for generations, and is still going strong. It’s also a strong farming community where I am, and they’re doing great. We don’t have do nothing losers begging, or leaving their sh*t on the streets.
I am not happy to hear about what’s going on in your community, but it sounds like you need to get the hell out of there, travel outside of NE. I had to do the same after seeing my beautiful hometown of Austin turn into an overpriced, overcrowded, dump of a city.
"In 2019, the Trump administration also held a series of training simulations on a hypothetical pandemic caused by a virus that predicted, with remarkable accuracy, many of the problems and shortfalls currently plaguing the US' response to the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The New York Times reported that the war-game style training exercise, which was led by the Department of Health and Human Services and included multiple federal agencies, 12 states, and private stakeholders, simulated a scenario where a respiratory virus dubbed "The Crimson Contagion" originated in China and rapidly spread through the US.
The simulation documented some of the exact same scenarios appearing now in American hospitals.
These included a lack of funding and shortages of medical equipment, delays and inconsistencies at the state and local levels over school closures, and systemic problems in manufacturing more medical supplies. It also includes a mandate that most people work from home and practice social distancing."
One of the primary recommendations in the NSC guidelines ignored by the Trump administration was to have one person take the lead publicly early on and engaging the public and essentially scaring them into taking precautions such as social distancing and the importance of wearing masks.
Instead at that crucial time while coronavirus was emerging in America we had President Trump completely lying to the American public and misleading them regarding the severity of the danger from it:
Jan. 10 Trump Tweet: "China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!"
It is now highly ironic that 127,000 of President Trump's own followers liked this tweet complimenting China and their transparency, and shows how clueless President Trump and his followers were concerning coronavirus.
Four days later on Jan. 22 President Trump was asked by a reporter: "Are there worries about a pandemic at this point?"
“No, not at all. We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.”
In the same interview Trump was asked: "With President Xi, there's just some talk with China that maybe the transparency isn't everything it's going to be. Do you trust that we're going to know everything we need to know from China?
"I do, I do. I have a good relationship with President Xi."
— Trump in a CNBC interview.
The last quote is also pretty ironic in retrospect, since Trump is now cutting funding for the WHO because it has complimented China's transparency.
On Jan. 29 President Trump's trade advisor Peter Navarro wrote a shocking memo predicting the coronavirus pandemic could cause half a million deaths and trillions of dollars in economic losses. President Trump denies ever seeing it.
On Jan 30 Alex Azar warned President Trump that it could turn into a pandemic and that China should be criticized for their lack of transparency. "Stop panicking," Trump told him.
Jan. 30 President Trump: "We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five — and those people are all recuperating successfully. But we’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for us … that I can assure you.” — Trump in a speech in Michigan.
On Jan 31 the travel ban on China was announced, the one step Trump can point to in defending his coronavirus response. But at that point over 400,000 people had traveled from China to U.S. since the Coronavirus had surfaced. Despite the travel ban reports have revealed that 40,000 Americans actually have come into the U.S. from China since the travel ban was announced.
Feb. 2 President Trump: "We pretty much shut it down coming in from China."
Feb. 10 President Trump "You know in April it supposedly dies with the hotter weather."!
Feb. 10 President Trump: “Now, the virus that we’re talking about having to do — you know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in. Typically, that will go away in April. We’re in great shape though. We have 12 cases — 11 cases, and many of them are in good shape now.” — Trump at the White House. (See our item “Will the New Coronavirus ‘Go Away’ in April?“)
On Feb. 13 HHS Secretary Azar announced a plan to help track the virus in the general population but his plan was rejected and the cdc failed to make tests available.
Feb. 14 President Trump: “There’s a theory that, in April, when it gets warm — historically, that has been able to kill the virus. So we don’t know yet; we’re not sure yet. But that’s around the corner.” — Trump in speaking to National Border Patrol Council members.
On Feb. 21 the White House Coronavirus task force gathers and discussed taking textbook mitigation efforts and concluded it would be necessary to take severe steps to slow the spread of the virus at some point, despite the economic costs.
Feb. 23 President Trump: “We have it very much under control in this country.” — Trump in speaking to reporters.
On Feb 24 Dr. Robert Kadlec, the top disaster response official at HHS presented a mitigation plan to President Trump and warned the President that serious steps needed to be taken. But nothing was done for several weeks, the White House instead focused on messaging and crucial weeks passed while the viris spread largely unimpeded before President Trump reluctantly accepted their views.
Feb. 24 President Trump: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” — Trump in a tweet.
The stock market has lost 20% of its value since President Trump's Feb. 24 recommendation to invest in it, the largest drop since the great depression. The president was obviously in deep denial about what was ahead.
Feb. 26 President Trump: “So we’re at the low level. As they get better, we take them off the list, so that we’re going to be pretty soon at only five people. And we could be at just one or two people over the next short period of time. So we’ve had very good luck.” — Trump at a White House briefing.
Feb. 26: “And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.” — Trump at a press conference.
Feb. 26: “I think every aspect of our society should be prepared. I don’t think it’s going to come to that, especially with the fact that we’re going down, not up. We’re going very substantially down, not up.” — Trump at a press conference, when asked if “U.S. schools should be preparing for a coronavirus spreading.”
Feb. 27: “It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.” — Trump at a White House meeting with African American leaders.
Feb 28: "The coronavirus...you know that right? Coronavirus... and this is their new hoax, were 15 people in this massive country. And because of the fact that we won early, we won early, we could have had alot more than that. We're doing great. Our country is doing so great." -- Trump at his own Campaign rally.
Feb 28: "...and you'll be fine."
Feb. 29: “And I’ve gotten to know these professionals. They’re incredible. And everything is under control. I mean, they’re very, very cool. They’ve done it, and they’ve done it well. Everything is really under control.” — Trump in a speech at the CPAC conference outside Washington, D.C.
March 2 President Trump: "Now they're gonna have vaccines, I think relatively soon. "
March 3 President Trump: "Not only the vaccines but the therapies. Therapies is sort of another word for cure."
March 4 Trump:We're talking about very small numbers in the United States.
March 4: “[W]e have a very small number of people in this country [infected]. We have a big country. The biggest impact we had was when we took the 40-plus people [from a cruise ship]. … We brought them back. We immediately quarantined them. But you add that to the numbers. But if you don’t add that to the numbers, we’re talking about very small numbers in the United States.” — Trump at a White House meeting with airline CEOs.
March 4: “Well, I think the 3.4% is really a false number.” — Trump in an interview on Fox News, referring to the percentage of diagnosed COVID-19 patients worldwide who had died, as reported by the World Health Organization. (See our item “Trump and the Coronavirus Death Rate.”)
March 6 Trump: "Our numbers are lower than just about anybody's."
March 7: “No, I’m not concerned at all. No, we’ve done a great job with it.” — Trump, when asked by reporters if he was concerned about the arrival of the coronavirus in the Washington, D.C., area.
March 9: “So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!” — Trump in a tweet. 295,000 of President Trump's followers "liked" that tweet by the President. No doubt that many of them ignored social distancing recommendations based upon President Trump downplaying it.
March 10 Trump: "It's really working out, and alot of great things are gonna happen."
March 10: “And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.” — Trump after meeting with Republican senators.
March 11 Trump: "and were responding with great speed and professionalism."
March 12 Trump: "Its gonna go away."
March 13 Trump: "No, I don't take responsibility at all."
March 15 Trump: "It'll all be so great. We're gonna be so good."
March 16 Trump: "This came up. It all came up so suddenly."
March 17 Trump: "This is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic. All you had to do was look at other countries."
TDS is strong with you. Enjoy the next 4 years. Please seek help or suicide hotline. After all, you are a fellow American, and we are in this together. Even If we disagree politically.
I thought you were done with this thread. I guess not after your last three posts.
"DoubleCrownAddict (Apr 11, 2020 at 6:57) I am done with this thread"
As far as short comings alot of us that own a Shout scratch our heads when we read the reviews.
Sure a single pivot, linkage driven shock with idler pulley won the World Cup last year...but it's absurd the level of thought, intelligence and creativity based on scientific principles not used by other manufacturers that DW brought into the marketplace. Some in the marketplace HATED his designs because they forced them into adapting with one off products for his designs so that he could make sure the most subtle bits of the designs were proofed into reality for the rider.
Hope down to post #59 (took me forever to dig this up) and read about the use of YAW (I've begged people to bring this term back so much...heh) in design and how it has a cascading effect on everything from traction to handling to controlled slides.

It was among the greatest of mountain biking memes when memes where infantile..... :nerd:
I'm going to need a carbon 130mm travel version of your bike.
And I need a frame only option.
Last if you can find a way to get rid of the steering appendage you'll sell twice as.many bikes.
The Trust forks should show you how much mtbrs care about looks.
Some of the mass market brands riding on high volume and super tight margins might be more vulnerable.
This time, I think you are going to see both classes cut back, unless they are in tech and can still keep cranking out work at high paid jobs. All the service industry people who normally spend a lot in bike shops are going to be crushed by this shutdown, it’s going to take ages to come out of their debt holes they will be hit by.
In Colorado, you see a lot of people spending more on their bikes than their cars because they’d rather have a nice bike than a status car. If they still have steady paychecks, they probably will still buy bike stuff as normal, if not more so because there isn’t much else to do for awhile.
1. My first car was a ‘70 144
2. The owner of Trust said something along the lines of “Some people are fine with driving Volvo’s(car company might have been different). Our forks are for people who would rather drive Ferrari’s.” in an article on here not too long ago.
My family had 5 Volvos. All during 80’s and 90’s. It was the pseudo intellectual’s car to pose in until the Subaru and Prius took over the thrown. Interesting about Volvo’s. Once you hit 100k+ the price of parts would bankrupt you trying to repair them as they ground to a halt. You couldn't pay me enough to own one.
I have. I learned early on the hard way that you need to have a years worth of ready cash in operating costs, including bare minimum living expenses to survive. I lost my shorts when I was 22 on a business venture. Learned from it. You never know what the weather will bring. What wars break out which creates market instability. Perhaps an icy Winter, or parched Summer or what pandemic is on the horizon. life it too uncertain, and when I've started businesses since, I've eaten Top Ramen daily and wear my Carhartts until they burst into flames and put every single extra penny into savings first, then split back into reinvestments.
I've been there, and I wouldn't have said that if I hadn't. Nobody knows what's coming until you've lived it, and for that it breaks my heart see any business go under, especially in such a short time as this. And double that with an industry that love; Mtn Biking. What they were doing was impressive. Putting their balls out and trying something that nobody else is doing. It's a perfect storm to fail with Chinese manufacturing gone and sales drying up. Many others will fall as well, sadly. And not having the capital to weather it for longer than a couple months is unfortunate.
Bottom line selling a thing especially an expensive thing is hard and at times you are likely when starting to be over leveraged.
Restaurants have similar issues. Not a high margin business good locations to do good business are expensive. At some point you decide do I fold the business or do I fold myself.
Downvotes to appreciate my very inappropriate and insensitively dark comment please.

And selling a 1000 of those over a couple of years is a pretty small amount when you look at R & D and paying the salaries of a few talented engineers.
Also going to call BS on the CV-19 excuse, they have literally lost like 2 dozen sales max since the virus became a thing. That's certainly not what sunk them. It was a lack of long term sales and the lack of further investment capital being available as the market is uncertain. DW has the sort of money to fund a project like this but wisely was choosing to use investment capital instead of his own money. Wonder if he'll buy the rights to it?
Also anyone with Strategy in name or services who did not have this potential or the risk mitigation in place (every organization everywhere).....please cease collecting pay cheque.
The irony is that often those whom got entities and countries into this mess and failed to see it coming are the ones asked to resolve and restore. Not filling me with confidence.
The way their forks were being constantly shoved down people's throats by bike websites and the "look at me" crowd of bike riders developed a general distaste in me for their product. It sucks they've gone under, but I don't believe the root cause of it to be this virus or a disruption of their supply chain. By all accounts I've read, the main benefit of their product was that it felt "different" while failing to out-perform traditional telescopic forks. I'm not willing to shell out 2k for a "different" feeling fork that adds a bunch of weight to the front of my bike. I'm sure a lot of people out there also aren't interested in melting their credit cards to buy a fork like theirs. At least not without some measurable performance improvement other than the increase in attention you get from fellow riders on the trail.
Sad they have to close shop because of the current situation, still can’t get used to the design but it was something different
On the other hand, not nearly as good as a Lyrik or Pike (or 34 or 36) landing, jumping, or coming down off a manual.
If you haven’t ridden one, now is your time to scoop one up (new or used) for a once-in-a-lifetime deal. They are THAT amazing. Don't listen to the H8ters...
R.I.P. (for now) Trust. Hope to see you back on your feet soon, guys!
If you don’t have the skills to try something strictly based on its potential, well, I’m sure it’s not the only thing that limits your personal growth.
Good luck in the rest of your narrowly focused life.
I suspect the company will re-emerge once the economy settles down, the patents alone are worth money.
I’m tempted to get my self a second one or maybe get a Message.
F'n hell...
I’m no expert, but I’ve ridden a few forks lately, really enjoyed my time on Bomber Z1/Smashpot, found the Mezzer to be just so so, but the Shout is a whole different beast,
No single advance has ever made me ride better, sure, new age geo is hood stuff, but nothing makes a bike carve like the Shout.
So I’ll happily keep riding mine until Trust is reborn.
Telescopic forks are yesterday’s news.
Don’t close your doors borrow, borrow, borrow and send out enough free forks that people all cross world get to see how your product works first hand. Might seriously help to see your forks to OEM to at penny on the dollar.
New inventions need to be superior to the existing tech/design in order to become established in the market . If not then it becomes a niche item . Couple that with a relatively high price and your pretty much doomed .
This fork has hardly been able to prove itself.
Sad ????
I wonder how many nice things people could think to say at your funeral...
I feel like I went too far...
I'm just wondering, what you stand to gain from being a dick for no reason? Would you say the same thing to the owners of intend if you actually met them? Don't you think they're probably pretty disappointed right now? They didnt start their company to hurt anyone. They're not making products that negatively affect anyone. They're enabling innovation within the industry which we love. You should see it as a loss, even if you dont believe in their products...you should believe in the ideals they bring to the bike industry. Maybe they motivated someone who will bring a future product to market that you will feel like you cant live without. If it wasnt for the type of influence they risked to bring us, you would be riding a horse or being whipped by the man atop one. They are the embodiment of the ideals which created our sport, and though their product itself may not be a huge loss to you, the loss of their influence should be.
Aww hell, I just repeat it all to be safe.
1. It's f*cking ugly.
2. It's overpriced as f*ck
3. It doesn't work as well as other modern forks.
That's what you call a bad product...
Exactly!
There's a difference between making a valid point and trying to be a sarcastic dick.
I could say, your a miserable fat f*ck, or that your a big guy who is negative. Same end state, different delivery
For the record, I'm not miserable and only occasionally a fat f*ck... really depends on whether I'm more interested in riding fast or eating tacos... but I always call it like it is, and only partially cause whiny little chumps like you get your feelings so easily hurt by reality.
Everything I said was accurate, and I said what I said. f*ck you and f*ck how you feel about it, it's the truth. Come fight me pussy.
But fine, if Snow Summit opens this year, I'll be in town and you'll be the first to know
It's adorable that you think I'm grumpy... and that most you can come up with is trying to call me fat and grumpy.
About the only accurate thing you've said is that you're no hero. It's ok soy boy, if you really want dick pics you don't have to play coy... you can just PM me.
I can say this about you...you are inaccurate. Minority or not, I like the look of these forks. Also, unless you're saying you've ridden one, simply regurgitating views from other's reviews isn't necessarily fact/accurate.
Btw, also not going to fight you. I'm also not a hero, but play one on the phone. I'll let @onlyDH report back.
"Aww hell, I just repeat it all to be safe.
1. It's f*cking ugly.
2. It's overpriced as f*ck
3. It doesn't work as well as other modern *forks.
That's what you call a bad product.."
Pretty much most American products then?
(*stuff)
I can vouch for the performance being well under par for the price, and I would have had no qualms about buying one if I thought it was worth it. Trust and cannondale's lefty, among other...polarizing...products aren't without some redeeming qualities IMO, but I wouldn't recommend either.
I'd argue he, or anyone else, doesn't have to ride the fork to declare that by virtue of having the shop cost be (at a low) over double the price of a the very best conventional forks available (and at it's release, almost triple) makes it automatically under performing for the price.
Regurgitating info from a reliable review source, or in this case, reviews having a decent split of judgement on whether the fork performs well *at all* isn't necessarily fact, but if shit starts piling up, it's time to take notice. And, looks are subjective - clearly, that wasn't the basis of his argument.
@fatduke nice bait m8
I agree, if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, good chance it's a duck. Cost is ALWAYS a factor, especially to the people who inhabit the comment section. I wasn't talking about any of that. But I will grant @badbadleroybrown credit for having actually ridden one and will retract that piece of my sentiment because I certainly have never ridden one. Would like to though, so I can adjust my own perception.
What were you saying about points speeding straight past?
Breaking arguments down by importance due to "how many parts there are" is a rather poor idea, let alone the fact that if you don't like how it looks AND willing to buy one, you aren't the market for the product.
I like how they look. I read how the jury is out on ride vs cost, I'm down with that. Qualified or not, I just like people giving new stuff a shot and it would be nice if this wasn't the end, just a pause. It would be nice if they could get closer to what you describe, and maybe the lower price comes with a bit more time.
Your fairness is appreciated, stay healthy my friend.
The wretched spawn of forks. #killitbeforeitbreeds
Sorry, I find it VERY hard to believe this would blow my mind over my ACS3 sprung 36 GRIP2.
I do, however, feel bad for their employees who now have to figure this out.
$.02
11 of the 11 folks I ride with regularly could not get behind this, even from an innovation standpoint. My favorite quote from the group was - "I wouldn't put that on my bike if I won it in a raffle". They had to know people would hate the way this thing looks.
