Anyone looking for an escape into the wilderness will enjoy the panoramas of the Kitzsteinhorn. The glacier lift will take you from the valley station in Kaprun, up 2.450 meters (8.038 ft) to the alpine centre. From here, the horizon is glittered with mountain peaks and the spring-like Zeller See. Down, round and over the mountains is a network of trails for you to explore. For example, the scenic Wustlau- and Geisstein trails take you to Hauslalm. A wide range of well-groomed and flowy trails has something for riders of all skill levels. Anyone looking to get from top to bottom as fast as possible should try the 3.144 meters (10.314 ft) long Geissstein-Trail. For beginners, the Bachler-Trail has a short uphill cycle to the Klammsee and then pure flow for 600 meters (1.968 ft) back down the face. Enduro riders can push themselves to the limits along the Astenway.

Just as much fun can be found at Bike-Circus Saalbach Hinterglemm. Here, a trail of more than 400 kilometers (248 mi) weaves its way through the varied terrain. The freeride region is made up of various jumps, wide but steep berms, North Shore elements, and peppered with technical rocks and roots. The Pinzgauer Grasberge is 1.000 meters (3.280 ft) of pure adrenaline. One of Europe’s longest freeride-tracks – the X Line powered by CONTI – is fitted with a clock to time downhillers as they race down the 6 kilometer (3 mi) track.

Sealing the hat trick is Bikepark Leogang, the home of UCI Mountain Bike World Cup races and FMB World Tour events. The bike park at the bottom of the Asitz Mountain has the biggest rider playground for beginners. More experienced bikers can head up the mountain, either in the saddle or by gondola. From the top a technical Hangman trail will bring you back down to the middle station and from here you can choose between tracks like the “Flying Gangster” or the World Cup “Speedster” trail. A more scenic route is the continuation of the Hangman trail with its wide track and well-groomed flowy sections. The bike park has north shore elements, massive wallrides and a GoPro Bagjump.

Visitors can also enjoy a day trip along the BIG-5-BIKE Challenge – an amazing XXL freeride-tour for all cross-country bikers and freeriders. Five cableways link five mountains between Saalbach Hinterglemm and Saalfelden Leogang. Each trail is unique and offers new challenges!
