Nice video Redbull! Lots of riding and a few interviews. Just my .02 cents but please consider on race day during the live broadcast minimizing the interviews and other side show stuff and give us nothing but racing and Rob Warner. Save all the side show stuff for these videos or the edit you do later. The people who get up at the crack of dawn or stay up late to watch these do it for the racing! Thanks for the awesome coverage!
PS Please do an end of year DVD/Blueray release with all the live coverage including the runs you didn't show.
To me it sounds like he is close to racing a 29er Session. Like he deliberately decided to not do it in technical Lourdes. My guess is he will let that horse out of the stable for the long Fort William track.
@thebrucetrail: with the DH's history of blacked out tyres I don't think that's the issue. Like Gee said this is'nt the track. Or maybe with the weather reports for raceday they're sticking to tweeners ....?
I fell like the dh guys are putting all the pressure on the bikes to be perfect when they are the ones who are going to be riding them. U could give a 2 yr old a perfectly set up v10 but they wouldn't ride fast. All i'm saying is that I feel they but too much emphasis on the parts of the bike and the setup of the bike. I mean sure it is important but not that important.
@Robeshredder247 the top guys notice changes very subtle changes in setup compared to the average rider. Thats why so much testing comes out of racing. Bike setup is also insanely important at that level
Cant understand your down votes! We ALL know it's the rider not the bike that wins! If Santa cruz get a one two three podium. THEN, the down voters may have a point
why would a 6'3 rider have to ride the same bike as a 5'6 rider? all three wheel sizes have their unique advantages and disadvantages. Let the riders race what they feel is fastest for themselves an keep it interesting
Wow. I'm scared about making the first post. Haha. Maybe I'm just old and old fashioned but data aquasition seems so crap to me. I wonder if McGrath collected data back in the day. Maybe he was just a good enough rider to kick everyone's ass. ????
I'm sure I've heard that Nico Vouilloz was big on it even in the late-90s/early-00s. Was always out collecting data on how the bike performed and used that to make changes. And he did win...a lot.
If I were a full time mechanic for one of these boys, I might get bored just doing overhauls every day. Collecting data and making positive changes would be very rewarding! I think it makes sense, but it is a lot of tech.
Yup, lets always do everything the same way forever. That's the way to go.
Sarcasm aside, it's not even the same level, there's all this stuff available and if you know how to use it, it can help. It's the same reason we're seeing 29'er DH bikes this year.
Actually luca shaw i do want to feel like I'm riding at the ragged edge. Maybe another sport like underwater basket weaving or curling would be more appropriate for 29ers
